This calculator, developed by Google, known as the Travel Impact Model, is designed to estimate the CO₂ emissions of the flights shown by the booking engine.
The emissions for each flight, the average emissions for the route, and the difference between the two are displayed on the flight search results page.
The computation of these emissions is based on a methodology published by the European Environment Agency (EEA).

We symbolize this with a small cloud ☁️, which helps you see whether the chosen flight sits within the lower or higher end of CO₂ emissions. Agencies can, if they wish, inform their clients about the carbon footprint of the flight they are considering. This also helps facilitate selling a direct flight, even if it is priced higher than a connecting one.
