Two years after electrifying its boats, Vedettes de Paris takes a new step in its environmental strategy.

The company, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year, has just inaugurated “Le Trincoeur”, a new bar concept installed aboard its open-top vessel Le Montparnasse.

The innovation rests on a draught-distribution system for beers, cocktails, waters and non-alcoholic beverages. The aim is to eliminate cans and reduce packaging, while simplifying logistics on board.

A 90-kg Saving Over the Season

Thanks to an integrated potable water tank, the boat can carry up to 500 liters of beverages. For its non-alcoholic offering, Vedettes de Paris teamed up with Necense, a Parisian company specializing in artisanal infused drinks.

Iced tea, lemonade or ginger beer are prepared directly on board, with a sugar content advertised as 30% lower than that of traditional sodas.

The company estimates that this setup will save, over a seven-month season, nearly 90 kg of cans and 80 kg of cardboard. The crew should also gain about an hour per day on bar setup and restocking operations.

Vedettes de Paris also highlights a menu favoring French references, in a décor inspired by Parisian bistros. Rolled out experimentally on Le Montparnasse, the concept could subsequently be extended to the entire fleet.
