The year 2026 could prove pivotal for Brazil’s tourism.
As explained to us by Barbara Roussel, the country possesses numerous strengths and represents an ideal refuge destination, at a moment when the Middle East is blocked by the war in Iran and a portion of travelers is avoiding Asia.
And the destination seems to have won over many French people, since France is the second European source market for tourists to Brazil. Between January and July 2026, 173,158 French tourists visited the country, a rise of 5.77% compared with the same period in 2025.
On the occasion of IFTM Embratur, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism has taken stock of forthcoming flight openings.
Note that, in the coming weeks, GOL is expected to open a route between Paris and Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian carrier has a commercial agreement with Air France.

With more links, we strengthen the conditions for longer trips, for movement between different regions, and for generating revenue in the visited territories“, commented Bruno Reis, president of Embratur, Visit Brasil.
