The European Union Court confirmed the ban on Booking’s acquisition of the Swedish group Etraveli for €1.63 billion.

Etraveli, owner of Gotogate and Mytrip among others, would have allowed the American group to strengthen its flight-booking offering and develop a broad “travel ecosystem”, risking marginalizing competitors.

Booking can still bring the case before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Insolite ! Aluminum-wrapped passport: the quirky anti-piracy trick travelers are talking about

On TikTok and Reddit, a travel tip is making waves: wrapping your passport in aluminum foil to block the radio reading of its chip.

While metal can indeed block radio waves, the risk of fraudulent passport reading is already limited by several security features.

Result: between the passport and the foil, travelers might mainly gain… a few extra touches at checkpoints.
