At the opening of IFTM, Assurever unveils ProteXia Santé, a new option developed with Neat that extends coverage to non-consolidated illnesses. It notably enables support for travelers suffering from a serious illness, such as cancer, or who have been hospitalized in the past six months, in situations that until now could trigger exclusions for cancellation or assistance.

« This new offer sprang from the field. Our partners regularly face clients who can travel but whose medical situation limits coverage. This gap is hard to understand, both for the traveler and for the professional who advises them. We have worked with Neat to provide a concrete answer and to enable our partners to offer protection suited to a broader range of situations. » explains Morgane David, Commercial Director of Assurever.

ProteXia Santé: concretely, what changes?

ProteXia Santé expands coverage in two key areas, according to an Assurever press release.

In cancellation, the option allows lifting the exclusion tied to the absence of risk concerning a pre-existing illness under treatment. Thus, when a disease known before subscription evolves and ultimately prevents the traveler from traveling, the cancellation guarantee can now intervene under the contract’s terms.

In assistance, ProteXia Santé also enables lifting, for this risk, of the exclusion related to a hospitalization that occurred within the previous six months, under the terms of the contract.

The aim: to prevent the existence of a known or recent medical condition from being sufficient, on its own, to exclude the involvement of these guarantees.

For Matthieu Drouet, Chief Executive Officer of Assurever, “a person can experience a significant medical situation while still being able to travel. Insurance must evolve with this reality. With ProteXia Santé, we want to narrow the gap between what medical advances make possible and what contracts are able to cover. It is an insurance evolution, but also a response to a real societal issue.”

ProteXia Santé will be available starting September 15 at IFTM (stand H080); it will be progressively deployed on Assurever travel insurance contracts beginning October 1, 2026.
