Eurostar announces the worldwide launch of its official app within ChatGPT, making it the first railway company to offer this kind of service in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Available this summer, the app enables travelers to search for Eurostar journeys directly from ChatGPT.

Users can obtain real-time information on schedules, travel times, and available fares, then be redirected to eurostar.com to complete their booking.

The experience is built on natural-language interaction, both in writing and speaking. After linking their ChatGPT account to the Eurostar app, users can express their requests conversationally.

It is thus possible to search for a trip between Paris and London for a weekend, compare the schedules between Brussels and Amsterdam, or identify an itinerary for a European trip. Eurostar’s stated objective is to give travelers quick access to the main information needed to plan their journey.

This new feature complements the company’s existing channels, namely its website and its mobile app.

AI, a Growing Search Channel

For Eurostar, launching this app also responds to the evolving traveler search behaviors. The company has been noting for several months an increase in traffic from AI platforms to its website.

Between January 2025 and June 2026, this traffic has grown by fivefold. By June 2026, ChatGPT alone accounted for 85% of the traffic generated by AI applications to eurostar.com.

The impact on sales remains, for now, limited but measurable. Between May and July 2026, bookings on eurostar.com made from an AI application represented between 0.8% and 1% of total bookings.

For the company, these figures nevertheless signal the emergence of new user practices in trip planning, with travelers now using conversational interfaces to search for information, compare options, and build their itinerary.

New Features Under Consideration

Eurostar already plans to gradually evolve its ChatGPT experience. Several avenues are currently being studied, including discovering destinations, visualizing the network, inspiration for future trips, and easier access to certain fare offers.

The company also indicates it wants to explore the possibilities offered by other conversational assistants as these new uses develop.

Research habits are evolving rapidly, and travelers are increasingly using conversational interfaces to plan their trips,” notes François Le Doze, Eurostar’s Commercial Director.

By launching our app in ChatGPT, we are choosing to be present where our customers already search for information and plan their journeys.
