The CGT Cheminots Federations, UNSA Ferroviaire, SUD-Rail and CFDT Cheminots have launched a mobilization call for SNCF employees for the month of November.
In a joint statement, they urge railway workers to gather on November 3 in Saint-Denis to defend their purchasing power, then to participate in a united strike on November 5 for their salaries, jobs and social and working conditions.
The unions denounce an austerity policy which, according to them, contributes to the deterioration of workers’ living conditions. They point in particular to the rising prices of energy, essential food products and fuels.
The unions demand a general wage increase, the revaluation of work bonuses and the housing allowance, as well as the creation of a third month of bonus. They rely notably on SNCF’s record half-year net profit of 1.2 billion euros announced in July. Beyond purchasing power, they denounce job cuts, staff shortages and budgetary restrictions, which they deem harmful to working conditions and railway safety.

This call for a strike on November 5 comes the day before the launch of the new TGV M. Indeed, after several delays, SNCF announced the commissioning and a press presentation of the new train sets, on November 6 between Paris and Marseille.
Travelers will be able to board from November 9, 2026. This next-generation TGV will initially operate a daily round trip between Paris and Marseille, in a double-unit formation, offering 1,240 seats.
