In June last year, we spoke to you about Mindtrip’s intentions to establish itself in Europe after conquering the USA.
It is now done.
After recruiting a team on the Old Continent, the AI-powered travel planning platform has just signed a partnership with “Norway by Locals” of the Norwegian Travel Cluster.
The Norwegian site will therefore integrate the AI travel planning tool created by Mindtrip.
Thus, the AI agent will rely on the data of 29 destination management and promotion organizations that are members of the Norwegian Travel Cluster to propose stay ideas to internet users, who will be able to consult them without ever leaving the “Norway by Locals” site.
“By bringing together tourism organizations around a common vision, the Norwegian Travel Cluster shows how technology can strengthen local expertise.
Together, we help travelers move from inspiration to action, while discovering the diversity of regions, communities and experiences that Norway offers“, said Andy Moss, cofounder and CEO of Mindtrip.

Mindtrip: Tourism offices, future competitors of travel agencies?
The startup thus allows destinations to keep control over content, but also to guide visitors according to tourism development policies.
They can influence the places, businesses and themes highlighted, so that the recommendations reflect local priorities, the press release explains.
“We have created an assistant that concentrates all information in one place. We are like a travel agent from twenty years ago. It’s a bit the promise we made ourselves at launch, in 2023.
And that is exactly where we are,” Andy Moss told us in a previous article.
This is not all. These same entities will receive aggregated data from Mindtrip on travelers’ searches, the places and experiences they explore, as well as the elements that prompt them to take action.
Thus, “Norway by Locals” does not disappear with AI, but becomes an entry point, almost certainly the most reliable for travelers.
It remains to be seen whether, in the long term, tourism offices will transform into travel agencies or tour operators, especially since the startup wishes to integrate booking directly into the discussion.
“AI will enable travelers to have an advisor available at all times, able to find the best prices, manage cancellations or book another flight in case of cancellation.
So it will no longer be just inspiration. The agent will be able to do concrete things. We even created Mindtrip Flights for this purpose. It thinks through all possible combinations, such as leaving on a particular day, from a particular airport rather than another, etc.
We can do the work of Google Flights without having to launch 10 or 20 searches, and obtain recommendations tailored to what you want, thanks to Sabre and PayPal,” Mindtrip’s co-founder and CEO told us.
