The hotel payment by means of a virtual card moves to the traveler’s smartphone.

S4BT – Solutions for Business Travel launches a mobile Wallet developed by Trevium, its brand dedicated to financial technologies, in partnership with the B2B payments platform Pliant, according to a press release.

The feature is globally available for S4BT clients using virtual cards issued by Pliant. It is especially aimed at cases where the traveler must settle at the hotel for ancillary services with their personal card, then submit an expense report.

The day before arrival, the traveler receives a secure link allowing them to add the virtual card linked to their reservation to a compatible mobile wallet, and then pay contactless at the hotel. Access is via a browser, with no app to download.

Two payment models supported

According to the press release, nothing changes for hotels or for the finance teams, who keep their reconciliation procedures. In the direct model, a single virtual card is generated and transmitted to the hotel. In the split model, two cards are created: one for the room and breakfast, which follows the usual circuit, the other for ancillary services, made available to the traveler in their mobile wallet.

The hotel and the traveler use the same authorized balance: an amount debited via one channel is no longer available via the other, in order to prevent double payments.

The Wallet is the second product born from the Trevium-Pliant partnership, after Guaranteed Transaction Enrichment, launched in July 2026, which transmits to finance teams validated transaction data before invoicing. S4BT brings together eight brands and more than 700 employees.

“Business travelers are used to paying with their smartphones in daily life. There is no reason a hotel payment should be more complicated,” explains Christopher Hecht, CEO of Trevium and Global Payment Solutions Officer at S4BT, in the press release.
