Minor Hotels continues its African expansion.

Already present with the NH Johannesburg Sandton, the operator announces the signing of two new properties under its premium brand NH Collection Hotels & Resorts: one on Pemba Island, in Tanzania, and the other in Accra, in Ghana.

Both openings are slated for by 2030.

With more than 640 properties in 59 countries, the Madrid-based group aims to solidify its position in African markets, leveraging strategic destinations in West and East Africa.

Accra: first footprint in West Africa

The forthcoming NH Collection Accra will comprise 200 rooms and will be part of a modern mixed-use project in the heart of the Ghanaian capital, Accra.

The establishment will benefit from a strategic location, close to governmental, corporate and diplomatic districts, notably Jubilee House, and just a few minutes from Kotoka International Airport.

The project is developed by Swami India Ghana Limited, a real estate group active in West Africa and the Middle East. It will integrate hotel, retail and office spaces.

The agreement was signed during the THINC Middle East 2026 forum, confirming the group’s interest in major African metropolises.

We are delighted to introduce the NH Collection Hotels & Resorts brand to Ghana, one of the most dynamic and promising markets in West Africa“, notes Amir Golbarg, Chief Operations Officer Middle East & Africa at Minor Hotels, in a press release.

Pemba Island: heading for the Indian Ocean

The second announced project, the NH Collection Pemba Island Resort, developed in partnership with Infinity Developments.

The establishment will count 145 rooms, suites and villas

Located close to Pemba Airport, the resort will provide easy access from Dar es Salaam while preserving the exclusive and low-density character of Pemba Island, within the Zanzibar archipelago.

The complex will offer several restaurants as well as MICE facilities (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions).

This new partnership continues the collaboration between Minor Hotels and Infinity Developments around the ultra-luxury Anantara Zanzibar Resort & Residences, a project currently under construction.

The introduction of the NH Collection Hotels & Resorts brand in Tanzania marks a major milestone in our expansion into the Indian Ocean“, comments Amir Golbarg, highlighting the island’s growing appeal to international travelers.
