Portugal in Summer: Unique Opportunities for Unforgettable Experiences

CroisiEurope

It’s precisely this diversity that makes the country an irresistible proposition for those seeking authentic and unforgettable experiences.

In a world where travelers increasingly seek personalization, authenticity, and connection, Portugal presents itself as the ideal setting for incentive programs, corporate events and tailor-made trips. At IN TOURS PORTUGAL, our mission is to transform every journey into an intimate encounter with the true Portuguese spirit, especially when summer is in full swing.

A Summer of Tradition and Discovery

It is easy to fall in love with Portugal in summer. Of course, the beaches of the Algarve, the Costa Vicentina, and Comporta remain iconic, but the true charm also lies in discovering less obvious corners, in living traditions and in experiences that go far beyond the crowds.

During the summer months, historic villages come alive, local markets overflow with fresh produce and the streets light up with local celebrations. Everywhere, there is a celebration. In Lisbon, the aroma of grilled sardines blends with the music of neighborhood fêtes, while in Porto the sky is illuminated by the colorful balloons of the São João festival. In Alentejo, the warmth invites serenity, long outdoor dinners and leisurely strolls between vineyards and golden fields.

For travelers seeking authenticity, Portugal in summer offers a lifestyle that encourages slowing down. There is time to enjoy a glass of wine on a riverside terrace, time to explore villages where tradition remains intact, and time to admire unforgettable sunsets from rooftops overlooking historic cities.

A Destination to Experience

Summer in Portugal is an invitation to active discovery. Sailing trips on the Tagus or the Douro, exclusive regattas on the Atlantic, hikes along cliffs or bike rides through vineyard valleys, the country offers a wide variety of experiences blending nature, adventure and well-being.

For those who prefer a more cultural summer, the historic centers of Portuguese cities are true open-air museums. In Lisbon, the Alfama and Mouraria districts preserve the soul of the city with their labyrinthine lanes, centuries-old azulejos and hidden miradouros. In Porto, Ribeira remains a living postcard, but it is in creative workshops, wine caves and renovated markets that the city reveals its most contemporary face.

At IN TOURS PORTUGAL, we craft these authentic and tailor-made experiences with meticulous attention to detail, tailored to each group and objective. We offer personalized itineraries that showcase the best of Portugal in summer—whether through exclusive dinners in historic palaces, private sunsets in secret venues, outdoor activities or gastronomic programs celebrating the season’s flavors.

The Value of Human Encounters

What truly makes Portugal special is the warmth of its people. Summer is the season when the country opens its arms even wider, with sincere hospitality and smiles freely offered.

More than destinations, IN TOURS PORTUGAL offers encounters. We work with local producers, artisans, chefs, guides and hosts who are passionate about sharing their stories and culture. It is these people who make the difference and render each program unique and unforgettable.

Portugal, especially in summer, is a place where human connections naturally form—around a shared table at a local market, during a tile-painting workshop, on a sunset boat ride, or in spontaneous conversations with those who know how to tell their country.

Portugal is a destination suited to both small exclusive groups and large-scale events, with options ranging from charming boutique hotels to contemporary venues and outdoor spaces offering spectacular views.

At IN TOURS PORTUGAL, we provide travel agencies with our in-depth knowledge of the country, our creativity and our network of trusted partners. We work closely with our clients to create personalized programs that surprise and add value, while ensuring dedicated and flexible service.

Asia: The Major Festivals That Can Transform Your Trip into an Unforgettable Experience

Dream Yacht

In this quest for cultural immersion, festivals and traditional celebrations present a tremendous opportunity. For a few days, sometimes a few weeks, a destination reveals its most precious aspects: its beliefs, its traditions, its history, its creativity and its identity.

For tourism professionals, these events also constitute a powerful differentiating lever. Building an itinerary around a festival or a cultural event allows offering a unique experience, difficult to compare with a classic circuit, while giving real added value to the journey.

Asia, with its exceptional cultural diversity, offers year-round a multitude of celebrations that deserve to be integrated into programs for 2026 and 2027.

When an entire country goes into festive mode

Certain celebrations literally transform a destination.

In Bhutan, the famous Tshechus bring together local communities, monks and pilgrims around sacred dances performed in the fortress-monasteries of the Himalayan kingdom. The Paro Tshechu (18 to 22 March 2027) and the Thimphu Tshechu (21 to 23 September 2026) rank among the country’s most spectacular events.

In Japan, the festival calendar rhythmically marks the seasons. From the monumental sculptures at the Sapporo Snow Festival in February to the majestic floats of the Gion Matsuri in Kyoto in July, and the timeless magic of cherry blossoms in spring, each period of the year offers a different view of Japanese culture.

Thaïlande © DTH Travel

In Thailand, the Yi Peng Lantern Festival of Chiang Mai (November 24-25, 2026) remains one of Asia’s most iconic experiences. Thousands of lanterns illuminate the sky simultaneously, creating an atmosphere filled with spirituality and emotion. If you wish to offer this experience to your clients, DTH Travel still has spaces available to attend this event.

Celebrations that tell a country’s soul

Beyond the spectacle, some events allow a glimpse into the spiritual and cultural dimension of destinations. In Cambodia, Pchum Ben, the Ancestors’ Festival, offers a rare immersion into Khmer Buddhist traditions. From October 10 to 12, 2026, families gather in pagodas to honor past generations.

A few weeks later, the country shifts to a completely different ambiance with Bon Om Touk, the Water Festival (November 23-25, 2026), which makes Phnom Penh pulse to the rhythm of boat races, concerts and popular celebrations.

In Malaysia, Thaipusam (January 22, 2027) impresses with the fervor of pilgrims climbing the Batu Caves’ famous steps in a spectacular display of faith.

In Sri Lanka, from July to October (peaking in August and September), the Minneriya Elephant Gathering is one of the year’s major highlights. Each dry season, herds of elephants gather around the Minneriya reservoir, producing one of Asia’s most impressive wildlife spectacles. The moment is especially striking in the late afternoon, when the animals arrive at the reservoir’s shores bathed in the sunset light. This natural phenomenon offers a unique immersion into Sri Lankan biodiversity and perfectly illustrates the link between nature, conservation, and responsible tourism.

Philippines © DTH Travel

The Philippines also offers a unique experience with the Sinulog, Ati-Atihan and Dinagyang festivals in January 2027. For several weeks, the streets transform into giant stages where music, dance and religious traditions blend.

The opportunity to craft unique journeys

However, building an itinerary around an event requires careful preparation. Festival periods often bring high hotel demand, specific logistical constraints and larger crowds. This is where local expertise becomes essential to select suitable accommodations and activities, or to combine the event with nearby less-visited destinations.

The goal is not merely to attend a celebration, but to allow travelers to understand its meaning and to experience it in the best possible conditions.

At DTH Travel, our local teams across 14 destinations in Asia assist tourism professionals in designing tailor-made itineraries that integrate these major cultural milestones, while preserving the authenticity and comfort of the experience.

Because beyond the destination itself, it is often the moments of celebration that leave the most lasting memories.

To imagine your next itineraries, the DTH Travel teams are at your disposal.

The 9th Gold Rush: Exotismes Delivers an Unforgettable Riviera Maya Finale

A new adventure in the spirit of emotion and self-transcendence

Even before touching down in Mexico, the journey took on a distinctive dimension thanks to the carrier Air Caraïbes, which sought to offer travel agents an exceptional experience in the Caribbean Class cabin.

Accompanied by its representative Colonial Tours, the participants landed on the Riviera Maya to turn this destination into a life-size playground. The objective? To provide a unique experience blending relaxation, exploration of the famous cenotes, and immersion in Mayan culture, all punctuated by playful competitions…

The 16 travel agents chosen from Exotismes’ most loyal ambassadors were immersed in the dreamlike settings of the hotels Bahia Principe, Iberostar, Palladium and Riu. On the agenda: a thrilling week-long treasure hunt where each challenge helped build concrete selling arguments for the destination, with the cooperation of the new properties, such as the Bahia Principe Grand Tequila, which responds to the strong demand for adults-only hotels.

Gold Coins at stake for the 2026 talents

If the mood was relaxed, the competition was very real. Our top specialists gave their all to accumulate points and win the coveted gold coins. After daily challenges that validated their product and destination knowledge, the standings were established.

A tradition of excellence that endures

Since its inception in 2015, the Gold Rush has been far more than a mere sales contest: it is a human adventure that celebrates the excellence of travel agents. After Mauritius in 2024, Zanzibar last year, Mexico managed to captivate this year with its authenticity and its dynamism.

Exotismes wishes to extend warm thanks to all its partners for the success of this fantastic journey, as well as to the participants for their energy and teamwork.

The destination of the 10th edition remains a mystery, but one thing is certain: the adventure will continue next year with new challenges and discoveries.
