TourMaG – Could you quickly introduce Vox Group?

Daniele Marchesiello: Vox Group was founded 25 years ago in Italy.

We have been offering technological solutions for guided tours, including headsets, audioguides, and a sightseeing app for individuals.

We work mainly with tour operators, cruise lines, OTAs, coach operators, museums, receptive agencies, and we are present in more than 150 countries across the globe.

TourMaG – Could you name a few of your clients?

Daniele Marchesiello :
We collaborate with Salaün Holidays, Verdié Voyages, Solotour, Richou, but also cruise operators like Intercruises, BLB Cruises, CroisiEurope, Tauck, Trafalgar in the UK, or Riviera Travel in Switzerland.

There are also Get Your Guide, Viator, the Château de Chenonceau, or in Marseille the Cosquer Cave, the MUCEM and the Tourist Office. In Aix-en-Provence, we have clients such as the Granet Museum, the Hôtel de Caumont, etc.

TourMaG – How does Vox Group differentiate itself from the competition?

Daniele Marchesiello :
We have two main competitors, Quiet Vox, founded in 2004, three years after us, and Whisper. We regularly find ourselves competing among the three, broadly speaking.

Our seniority and expertise give us a decisive edge. We offer flexibility and global know-how that make the difference.

We distinguish ourselves already by our presence and offices around the world, which helps reassure our partners. If they come to Egypt and have an issue, they know they can call the local office to find solutions.

The other major difference is that our competitors are specialized in certain tourism segments. By contrast, we chose to position ourselves across all segments.

And then, we never stop investing, whether it’s designing new products, improving current ones, or renewing the headset fleet.

Finally, our group stands out by its size. We employ more than 300 employees, including office staff (sales, marketing, etc.) and the various teams that prepare devices, manage reservations, ship them, etc.

TourMaG – In this July month, you’re innovating again with Vox Aura. Could you explain the concept?

Daniele Marchesiello: During a guided tour, Vox Aura will enable the guide to offer the group a simultaneous translation of the explanations into four languages – the guide’s language and three others – using a single receiver.

This product should notably appeal to DMCs, cruise lines and OTAs because they can open visit slots in multiple languages.

The tool allows choosing from more than 200 languages available. The guide accesses the settings via an app.

TourMaG – Is this simultaneous translation based on AI?

Daniele Marchesiello :
Yes, we opted to use a global AI that, fed daily, becomes smarter, and can be enriched with input from everyone. However, the server — which controls the AI and reassures the guide that all comments will not be recorded — and the hardware portion were implemented by Vox Group.

TourMaG – How did the idea for Vox Aura come to you?

Daniele Marchesiello :
During the Covid period, Vox chose to invest in technology and growth.

An application was developed for contactless tours, with the addition of translation, but it turned out that not everyone in a group would necessarily use their own phone, so this feature was later transferred to audioguides.

We then developed Vox Aura, which offers the same functionalities as the app but on receivers provided by the guide.

TourMaG – How do guides react when you present Vox Aura? Aren’t they worried about their jobs when they see a tool that can translate in four languages simultaneously?

Daniele Marchesiello: On the contrary. Guides work for tour operators, but they also run their own tours. And now they will have the possibility to assemble groups speaking two languages. It’s also a comfort gain. They no longer have to alternate explanations in two languages during a single visit. It saves time.

TourMaG – The commercialization of Vox Aura will start in August 2026. How did the testing phase go?

Daniele Marchesiello: We officially unveiled the solution at WTM 2025 in London, last November. Since December, we’ve received numerous trial requests, which allowed us to improve the software aspect. Indeed Vox Aura is Internet-connected and updates automatically.

TourMaG – Do clients need an internet connection during their visit to benefit from the simultaneous translation?

Daniele Marchesiello: Not necessarily; it’s enough that the guide’s device is connected. The link between Vox Aura and the receivers is wireless.

We conducted numerous real-life tests with our clients, including cruise lines, OTAs, tour operators, receptive partners, museums, etc.

Among the Vox Aura options is the ability to add information before the visit or the conference. For example, during a tour focused on the churches of Paris, the guide can specify the route or the vocabulary that might be used on the topic. The solution will pre-fetch all terms specific to a church visit, which can be used from a architectural or highly technical perspective.

Another interesting feature: it is possible to require translation of certain words or proper names, or to exclude translation of others. For instance, in Brussels, the Grand-Place isn’t translated as “Piazza Grande” or “Great Place.”

TourMaG – Does this simultaneous translation tool exist elsewhere, with competitors?

Daniele Marchesiello :
While translation apps are multiplying for the general public, the travel industry demands a much higher degree of rigor. In this domain, Vox Group is today recognized as the only player offering a global, fully integrated ecosystem for guiding.

Fixed-Term Contract for Career Change: A Milestone in the Labor Code [ABO]

Le CDD de reconversion permet aux salariés d'avoir l'opportunité de réaliser une reconversion professionnelle en suspendant simplement temporairement leur contrat de travail initial - Depositphotos.com, zagandesign

CroisiEurope

2026 brings its share of surprises, notably regarding the reconversion fixed-term contract!

At a time when skills assessments are in vogue (in 2024, more than 80,000 assessments were funded through the CPF), this arrangement also adds flexibility to potentially test another occupation.

Also read: The skills assessment for whom? Why?

In this regard, Article L.1242-3, 5th of the French Labour Code provides that a CDD can be concluded “for the reconversion period mentioned in Article L.6324-1 […] for a duration of at least six months.”

The article has been in force since January 1, 2026.

Reconversion CDD: What is it for?

But what is the point of this CDD?

Simply put, the employee can try out a new job or a different professional environment within a host company without breaking immediately and directly with their original employer.

Consider the case of a recruitment officer at a renowned company who has always wanted to work with children: she became a camp counselor.

A successful transition and the sense of having fulfilled a long-held wish.

This mechanism therefore allows employees already on permanent contracts (CDI) or fixed-term contracts (CDD) to have the opportunity to undertake a professional reconversion in another company by temporarily suspending their initial contract.

For the hosting company, a way to recruit an already experienced profile

France Travail also presents this mechanism as a means for the host company to recruit a profile that is already experienced, by supporting them with training and potentially offering a permanent contract (CDI) at the end, if the reconversion proves successful.

But how does it work if the original contract is suspended during the reconversion CDD period?

A written agreement must specify the terms of organization, the suspension period, the conditions for an early return, and the consequences in case of termination of the probation period. Everything must be legally formalized just as with the end of a “classic” contract.

Thus, at the end of this CDD, there are two options available to the employee: either rejoin their initial position or a similar role, or continue with the host company, with a defined exit from the initial contract.

This new mechanism could become a reliable tool to safeguard professional career paths, provided it is, of course, properly regulated.

In my view, it represents a meaningful step forward to support mobility, reconversions, and professional transitions within a more secure framework. The aim is to test a new occupation while being “protected.”

Jans Tours Switzerland: A New Milestone in the Group’s History

Dream Yacht

Jans Tours Switzerland launched its first operations this year, with carefully crafted products, committed local partners, and a field team that brings the destination to life on a daily basis.

A step that naturally fits into the group’s evolution and that it was time to present more officially to our partners in the Francophone market.

A natural evolution rather than a strategic shift

At first glance, the link between Southeast Asia and Switzerland may seem surprising. Yet the logic is simple.

Jans Tours has always built its development around the same philosophy: strong destination expertise, teams close to the ground, and the ability to craft tailor-made trips that make sense.

After Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia, the group naturally continued its international expansion by opening up new perspectives in Europe. The France commercial office marked an important first step to strengthen ties with Francophone markets. The creation of Jans Tours Switzerland is in line with this continuity.

This is not about changing professions, but about widening the playing field.

Switzerland, a destination that ticks all the boxes today

If Switzerland today asserts itself as a new destination for Jans Tours, it is not by chance.

The market is evolving, and so are travelers’ expectations. There is a growing demand for trips that are smoother, more responsible, closer to nature and local experiences. Journeys where the travel itself becomes an experience, where one takes time to discover, to feel, to understand.

And in this regard, Switzerland has a real playbook.

Between its spectacular Alpine landscapes, its lakes, its perfectly preserved villages, and its railway network among the most efficient in the world, the country offers an ideal playground to build varied itineraries that are attractive and accessible year-round.

It is also a destination that speaks to several client typologies: FITs, groups, incentives, or premium trips.

A destination built closest to the ground

Since its launch, Jans Tours Switzerland has relied on an approach built from direct contact with the destination, nourished by in-depth and practical knowledge of the terrain.

The country lends itself particularly well to varied itineraries, thanks to the complementarity of its regions. Lucerne and Central Switzerland offer immediate access to the Alps and the country’s classics, between sparkling lakes and accessible mountains. The Bernese Oberland remains one of Switzerland’s most spectacular playgrounds, perfect for nature experiences and endless alpine panoramas. Farther south, Valais and Zermatt embody iconic Switzerland, with the presence of the Matterhorn, the country’s emblematic mountain, and a decidedly premium atmosphere. Graubünden and the Engadin entice with their more pristine landscapes and exceptional rail experiences, while the Geneva region and Lake Geneva combine urban elegance, terraced vineyards, and open views of the Alps.

The goal is not to offer a fixed package, but to build a flexible, inspiring, and customizable base that can adapt to the expectations and specific needs of each market and each client.

Today, it is mainly the experiences that give the destination its full personality.

Experiences that invite you to travel differently

In Switzerland, travel is part of the journey itself.

The panoramic trains are the best example. They are not mere transfers, but genuine experiences.

This is notably the case with the Bernina Express Pullman Class, where travelers board historic cars inspired by the 1930s to traverse some of the most beautiful UNESCO-listed Alpine landscapes.

On board, the pace slows. The scenery scrolls by. And the journey takes on a different dimension, almost timeless.

Another novelty in central Switzerland: the TITLIS Tower, with its Horizon Deck at the summit, offering a new panoramic experience in the heart of the Alps, at over 3,000 meters above sea level.

To these are added gastronomic experiences, regional festivals, and a particularly high-quality hotel offering, enabling the construction of very differentiating programs.

A clear commitment to sustainable tourism

One logic: connecting destinations and partners

With Jans Tours Switzerland, the group takes a new step in its development, without changing what defines its identity.

The ADN remains the same: strong destination expertise, solid local presence, and a constant commitment to supporting travel professionals in creating tailor-made programs.

And above all, a clear continuity between all destinations in the group.

From Indonesia to the Philippines, from Malaysia to Switzerland, our teams remain available to assist travel agencies and tour operators in their projects, delivering the same rigor, the same responsiveness, and the same on-the-ground passion.

Because ultimately, it doesn’t matter the destination: what matters is the experience we build together.
