Rodolphe Costel :
The travel agency was founded in 1946, then acquired and developed by my parents in 1991. Today, I run Transgallia alongside my sister, Eugénie Costel.
We specialize in group travel. We send around 750 travelers per year. We work directly with CSEs and associations. We also operate two individual agencies: one in La Chapelle-Saint-Luc (Aube) at the headquarters, and another in downtown Troyes.
Finally, we have a corporate travel activity that complements the whole. Today, Transgallia employs 20 staff for a turnover of €20 million.
TourMaG – You embarked on a major digital project by integrating artificial intelligence and automation at the heart of your organization. When did you trigger this project?
Rodolphe Costel : At the outset, we used artificial intelligence, as many do, for content creation, for dressing up detailed itineraries, helping us prepare quotes or even serving as a legal assistant.
The company truly ramped up on this topic starting in autumn 2025. Transgallia posted steady, double-digit growth year after year, except during Covid, and we struggled to recruit.
The only solution left for us was to automate part of the tasks, through AI.

AI, a true lever for improving the customer experience

TourMaG – How did you proceed? Were you supported along the way?

Rodolphe Costel :
I tried to think through the architecture and identify all business tasks, distinguishing those that could be automated from those that could not. Based on that, I developed a strategy that allowed me to progress.

My collaborators also offered suggestions. We held briefings and proposed various possibilities. For implementation, we work with an external development firm with whom we have long collaborated on other IT projects. We have invested in specialized software and benefited from guidance.

There is still a lot of development to be done. In any case, I have ideas; I have them every day.

TourMaG – Is the objective only productivity gain?

Rodolphe Costel :
AI represents a major evolution for our profession. At Transgallia, we do not see it solely as a productivity tool, but as a real lever to improve the customer experience.

Our ambition is to move from an organization that merely responds to requests to one capable of better anticipating expectations.

We want our clients to benefit from the full power of the new technologies, without ever losing what makes our profession valuable: proximity, advice, and human presence.

TourMaG – Have you quantified the productivity gains, anyway?

Rodolphe Costel :
We have achieved a 30% productivity improvement. But it is not primarily about productivity; it is about work quality. I reiterate: all repetitive tasks are handled by AI, which allows everyone’s work to be valued more and increases agility. With this tool, we not only improve productivity but also job satisfaction.

Concrete applications

TourMaG – Could you present a few concrete applications?

Rodolphe Costel : AI helps us better organize the processing of requests, streamline project follow-up, and automate certain administrative steps.

We receive many inquiries by email. We have a well-optimized group-dedicated website, but occasionally individuals reach out, assuming the prices offered apply to individual travel.

The tool automatically recognizes whether it is an individual request or a group one, then analyzes the type of request and the destination. We know, for example, that a staff member specializes in a given destination. The tool can then forward the request directly to the right person.

Automation also impacts the sales department, but especially the technical department, where it can be pushed very far. Once the file is confirmed, there are many repetitive tasks that can be automated.

Between contract signing and departure, a year can elapse. There are many steps that can be anticipated by automating certain processes.

The idea is to provide as much practical information as possible to the group leader, based on the destination and travel period, to assist with formalities and to offer practical advice tailored to the destination. Each traveler can receive relevant information at the right moment.

There are many such automations, being proactive and trying to anticipate questions to provide answers in advance.

For the client, this is very reassuring, as it gives a sense of ongoing monitoring. On our side, answering questions in advance also helps unclog the inboxes and reduces the number of incoming calls.

Even during the trip, we have the option to automatically send an email or a text message to verify that the arrival went smoothly, with a view to defusing any potential dispute as early as possible.

AI also contributes to improving the analysis of feedback and the tracking of satisfaction. We automatically send satisfaction surveys. The analysis of responses and the management of satisfaction are also orchestrated by AI. There are really many possibilities.

“The teams understood that their place is not in question”

TourMaG – Does this allow you to do things you wouldn’t have had time for before?

Rodolphe Costel :
Absolutely. Some things have even been implemented that didn’t exist before.

TourMaG – Let’s revisit the example of formalities: how do you handle changes?

Rodolphe Costel : For the formalities, we’ve set up a monitoring system with an AI agent that consults France Diplomatie and other sources. As soon as a change occurs, the client is automatically informed to reassure them and provide the necessary information.

The goal is to give the client more information, while easing the teams’ workload, improving productivity, and placing the human element at the core of the business.

TourMaG – Aren’t the teams frightened by the place AI has taken?

Rodolphe Costel : No, they understand that their place is not being questioned.

They also understand that if we manage to handle more dossiers, that means more work for them. It brings our profession back to the heart of the customer relationship. And the teams are still overwhelmed!

Transgallia: more than 2,800 products online on the group site

TourMaG – Which destinations do you offer?

Rodolphe Costel :
Our advantage is that we are generalists and not overly dependent on political crises in any given country.

We offer many itineraries in Europe and cultural stays, notably in Albania, Bosnia, or Greenland, with new offers we are launching for groups.

We produce our own itineraries and seaside stays, with the exception of requests related to clubs. We have more than 2,800 products online on our group-dedicated site.

Eurostar Enhances Its Business Travel Offering

CroisiEurope

The arrival of Trenitalia and Virgin Trains on the Paris-London axis is not expected before 2029 for the former and 2030 for the latter. But already, faced with competition from air travel, Eurostar is stepping up its commitments to businesses.

“The corporate segment is valuable for Eurostar and continues to grow, with volumes up by about 2% in the first eight months of 2026 versus the previous year, across all of our routes in five countries” said François Le Doze, Commercial Director, on the occasion of the IFTM show.

Although he does not provide precise figures on the exact share of business travelers in activity, he came to Paris with a few gifts, namely an improved offer dedicated to businesses.

Two levels that cover eight destinations

Since September 1, the railway company is updating its corporate program, with two levels covering all eight permanent routes, whereas the old contracts were limited to a few axes.

Accessible from €50,000 in annual spend, the Level 1 offers preferential fares and greater flexibility, with a harmonized experience across the network. These discounts reach 5% in First Class and 3% in Plus Class.

The Level 2 (from €150,000) adds further discounts negotiated on a case-by-case basis, dedicated support, and services tailored for large accounts.

“This offering is simpler and more transparent. Companies today operate at a European scale and expect mobility solutions at the same scale” explains François Le Doze.

A more accessible offering

This improvement goes hand in hand with enhanced accessibility of the offering through the online portal Eurostar for Business used by agencies and SMEs and via the various distribution channels.

From 2027, Eurostar for Business will integrate new tools allowing users to easily export travel data and better manage their travel policies.

“We have also formalized contractual frameworks with different technology players to better integrate our offering with SBTs” adds François Le Doze.

Fifty new trainsets to accompany growth

Eurostar carried 20 million passengers in 2025. The company, 55.75% owned by SNCF Voyages Développement (a subsidiary of SNCF Voyageurs), plans to invest €2 billion in the coming years with up to 50 new Celestia duplex trainsets ordered from Alstom to be introduced starting in 2031.

In addition to a 20% higher capacity, they will allow the rail operator, in a context of strengthened competition in Europe, to expand its offering and improve its services.

Opened in 2025, the new Eurostar terminal at Amsterdam Centraal station already helps to better welcome passengers and streamline boarding.

Trains to Switzerland coming soon

Future developments focus especially on the terminal at Gare du Nord in Paris. The redevelopment project named “Future Gare du Nord”, led by SNCF and unveiled in December 2025, notably promises an expanded Transmanche terminal by 2029.

“We are continually working to improve the customer experience. Station management is an everyday challenge and will become even more so in the future with greater competition” says François Le Doze.

Eurostar is also pursuing plans to run its trains in a sixth country, alongside France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, with a Swiss service envisaged for 2030.

Singapore Airlines Enhances Its In-Flight Dining Experience

A New Tableware Set for Premium Cabins

In Suites, First Class and Business Class, meals will be served using a brand-new tableware set designed in collaboration with Christofle, incorporating an interpretation of Singapore Airlines’ batik motif.

The beverage offering is also evolving with new selections of wines, champagnes and spirits, as well as a broader range of non-alcoholic drinks.

Some dishes may benefit from a special presentation in Suites and First Class, with drink recommendations offered by the crew.

These enhancements will be rolled out gradually from November 2026.

These changes form part of a broader redesign of the Singapore Airlines travel experience, which will also include a new cabin, an evolution of the entertainment system KrisWorld and high-speed connectivity.

The entire package will be unveiled in Singapore in November 2026.

TourCom Enhances Payment Solutions for Travel Agencies

A Hosted Card for Corporate Clients

The network is concurrently expanding its business travel offering with the launch of a hosted card, operated using the Adyen technology.

Offered by agencies to their Corporate clients, this solution should allow centralizing payment for services related to business travel and facilitate the monitoring of corporate travel expenses.

TourCom also partners with Airwallex to extend its system to managing expenses incurred by employees during their business trips.

The objective is to cover the different stages of the expense cycle: before departure, reservations and payments can be made via the TourCom Payment Platform; during the trip, employees’ expenses are managed with Airwallex solutions; after the trip, companies have tools for reporting, accounting reconciliation, and expense control.

With these new solutions, TourCom aims to offer agencies, regardless of size, tools to meet the various payment needs of their clients.

The network thus intends to strengthen support for independent agencies by giving them access to shared solutions that cover both payment management and, for business travel, the tracking of professional expenses.

easyJet Enhances Its Business Offering to Compete with Transavia

Reginald Otten (DG adjoint easyJet France) et Vanessa Lefebvre (Senior Account Director IHG) - Photo : TB

CroisiEurope

Six months after Transavia’s arrival on the Orly-Nice and Orly-Toulouse routes, replacing Air France shuttles, easyJet sharpens new weapons to face the competition.

The stake is significant because these two routes are not only the busiest in France.

Lacking a high-performing rail alternative, they are also favored by business travelers, especially those who make the day return.

To entice them to fly on its planes, easyJet signed an agreement with the lounges La Croix du Sud at Toulouse-Blagnac airport and Infinity at Nice-Côte d’Azur airport, where the airline leads in passenger numbers, ahead of Air France.

Des avantages réservés aux passagers « Inclusive Plus »

Since early September, access to the two lounges is included in the business offer “Inclusive Plus” (formerly Flexi) of the orange carrier, marketed through travel agencies.

These are the first lounges accessible in easyJet’s French network. Access is restricted to passengers on Nice–Orly (Nice–Roissy is not included), Toulouse–Orly and Toulouse–Lyon Saint-Exupéry.

Beyond this novelty, the Inclusive Plus offer also includes various advantages: free changes of date and time for flights, skip-the-line and priority boarding, carry-on and checked luggage included, a seat at the front of the aircraft, and a on-board “coffee” meal option.

45% de passagers affaires entre Orly et Toulouse

« We want to improve the experience of our business customers, who account for between 25% and 30% of our passengers in France; a figure that can rise to 45% on weekdays on certain routes such as Orly–Toulouse » explains Reginald Otten, EasyJet’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer for France.

easyJet is also taking the opportunity to increase the number of flights between Orly and Toulouse, up to seven per day. From Nice, it offers up to eight flights per day to Orly, as well as rotations to Roissy.

And while the company closed its Toulouse base in 2025, it is showing signs of revival there this winter, by strengthening its Marrakech–Toulouse route from its new base established in the Moroccan city since April, as well as London Gatwick–Toulouse.

Des réductions partagées avec les hôtels IHG

Reginald Otten also took advantage of easyJet’s presence at the ITFM show to unveil an unprecedented partnership with the IHG group spanning 21 brands (InterContinental, Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn…)

Members of the easyJet Plus program from SMEs will benefit from preferred rates at 7,000 IHG hotels as well as loyalty advantages under the IHG Business Edge program aimed at business travelers.

Conversely, customers who are members of the hotelier program will enjoy a 20% discount on any new easyJet Plus membership (€290 per year).

Purchased last August by the American investment fund Apollo Global Management for €6.6 billion, easyJet has been hit by several labor conflicts this summer.

An agreement was reached with the commercial flight crew, who had been pointing to scheduling issues, at the end of August. And Reginald Otten confirms ongoing discussions—still regarding working conditions—with the airline’s pilots.

The SNPL union suspended the strike planned for the past weekend to give negotiations a chance, while filing a strike notice for September 24 and 25 next.
