From Camping to Hospitality: Huttopia Opens Two New Properties at Lake Aiguebelette

« This is an event for the group » announced Philippe Bossanne, co-founder of Huttopia, this Thursday, July 9, on the occasion of the inauguration, not of one but of two new sites on the shores of Lake Aiguebelette in Savoie.

The group strengthens its regional presence with the simultaneous opening of two new addresses: Huttopia Domaine du Lac – Maison Ronde, combining hotel service with nature-oriented accommodations, and OnlyCamp Le Ferrand, a campsite dedicated to tents, vans and other caravans.

With this double inauguration, Huttopia now brings the number of its establishments around the lake to four, alongside Huttopia Lac d’Aiguebelette and OnlyCamp Les Peupliers.

In total, the group says it has invested nearly 20 million euros around Lake Aiguebelette since its arrival in 2017, « without resorting to public funding » insists Philippe Bossanne.

The flagship project concerns the transformation of Huttopia Domaine du Lac – Maison Ronde.

« The overall project cost us nearly €9 million » specifies Philippe Bossanne during the inauguration.

It includes notably the revival of La Maison Ronde. Built in the 1920s–1930s as a hotel, the establishment later became a holiday center in the 1950s before closing its doors for almost three decades.

« I didn’t even know that this building stood right next to the Le Curtelet campsite, which we had acquired », recalls the founder. Fascinated for a long time by its architecture, he eventually decided to undertake a rehabilitation project that he now acknowledges as particularly ambitious.

« Wanting to rehabilitate this building wasn’t very reasonable », acknowledged Philippe Bossanne at the inauguration. The leader explains that he quickly realized the project would exceed the initial estimates.

For several decades, the building remained abandoned. In 2020, Serge Grollier, the Mayor of Lépin-le-Lac, took the matter in hand again and launched a call for proposals: « When we visited La Maison Ronde in 2020, we found a real ruin, with many brambles on the site, but we were convinced it needed to be brought back to life », he recalled during the inauguration.

In 2022, the choice fell on an operator who wished to transform the site into a youth hostel, but the project did not go through. It was in 2023 that the search for investors was restarted and Huttopia was approached.

« It is a success when you see the quality of the result obtained by Huttopia and the companies that contributed to the projects, after only seven months of work, five of which were carried out in the mud due to heavy rains. Opening for the 2026 season is a real feat » added the Mayor.

The new Domaine du Lac combines hotel, hotel lodges, canvas-and-wood tents, and chalets

« We do not have a financial shareholder demanding dividends every year. This allows us to reinvest and carry out this type of project », explained the Huttopia co-founder, asserting a participatory family capitalism.

If the Domaine du Lac is operated under a 90-year lease, Philippe Bossanne acknowledges that the challenge now is economic. « The balance of such a project is not obvious. It will have to appeal and attract a lot of people »

The new Domaine du Lac now combines several activities on a single site: a 13-room 3-star hotel in La Maison Ronde along with 12 wooden hotel lodges, 59 outdoor accommodations (32 wooden chalets and 27 canvas-and-wood tents), a café, a beach, a jetty, water activities as well as an old hunting pavilion converted into a seminar space capable of hosting up to 80 people.

« This hotel offering with our hotel lodges and the seminar space will allow us to fill the wings during the shoulder seasons, and perhaps in autumn as well. We must always pursue the project’s viability. » states the group’s founding president.

The establishment will be open from April to mid-November and aims at both local clientele—particularly from Lyon and Chambéry—and international visitors. The Maison Ronde could also, in a later phase, develop a dining offer for local customers: « We have planned it, but for now it is not on the agenda. »

A development built around the lake

The history of Huttopia at Aiguebelette developed gradually.

Philippe Bossanne explains that he was first approached by local officials to develop the first Huttopia campground on the lake: Huttopia Lac d’Aiguebelette opened in 2017.

The success of this installation then led the group to take over Les Peupliers, and, during a real estate visit, the OnlyCamp Le Curtelet campsite, which has become today Huttopia Domaine du Lac.

In addition, there is a fourth address, adjacent to Les Peupliers, the OnlyCamp Le Ferrand, inaugurated on this same day in its new configuration.

The two sites will also be brought together next year to become OnlyCamp Grands Peupliers.

OnlyCamp Le Ferrand: €1 million invested

The OnlyCamp Le Ferrand campsite also underwent an investment of more than €1 million.

The works mainly focused on infrastructure, the complete renewal of networks, the creation of a new sanitary block, the modernization of the living center, and the development of a dining offer.

Faithful to its philosophy, the site is dedicated to bare pitches. « We decided to make it a 100% pitch campsite, where people arrive with their tent, caravan, van or motorhome », explained Philippe Bossanne.

The site now has 190 bare pitches spread over four hectares, with direct lake access.

For Axel Pénin, the managing director of OnlyCamp, this strategy responds to a sustained demand from traditional campers. The brand network, now with 104 destinations, favors bare pitches, simple yet high-quality facilities and a deliberately affordable pricing policy: « A family with two children can spend a week in the heart of summer for less than €250 », he notes.

A single rate is applied across all OnlyCamp campgrounds, regardless of location.

Pitches for two people are offered at €12 (no swimming) or €15 (with swimming) in off-peak season, then €17 and €24 between July 1 and August 31.

Barcarès: Club Med Officially Opens Its First-Ever Resort in Occitanie

Le Club Med officialise son tout premier Resort en Occitanie - Depositphotos.com, Willy Mobilo

Costa Rica

The Six Senses brand opens its second property in Saudi Arabia, following the launch of Six Senses Southern Dunes.

This project is set on a coastal site spanning 4,140 m², notable for its cliffs and mangroves, in a region where tourist infrastructure and local service standards are still being developed.

Neil Palmer, Chief Operating Officer of Six Senses, comments on this opening: « AMAALA offers us an exceptional seafront setting to bring this philosophy to life. Here, well-being naturally fits into the rhythm of each day, allowing our guests as well as our residence owners to slow down, reconnect, and experience the Red Sea in a profoundly human way. »

The property is led by Bryce Seator, General Manager, and can be reached by road from AlWajh Airport in 45 minutes or by air via the Red Sea International Airport.

Infrastructure, Dining and Environmental Features

The wellness offering rests on a 1,100 m2 spa featuring treatment rooms with lagoon views, an outdoor Watsu pool, a sound dome, and a longevity area equipped for cryotherapy and PEMF therapy.

The complex’s dining is provided by three main venues. The Soraya restaurant offers Nippo-Latin American fusion cuisine, while the Joud space serves Mediterranean and Middle Eastern specialties.

To complement this culinary offering, the Beach Shack focuses on seafood and grilled dishes. In keeping with local specifics, the menu features only botanical beverages, infusions and non-alcoholic fermented drinks.

Environmentally, the establishment uses solar energy and aims for LEED Platinum certification for its construction methods. The teams have also established a technical space, named Earth Lab, which serves as a venue for recycling workshops and the making of artisanal products.

The experience offered to travelers revolves around terrestrial and aquatic activities, including 4×4 safaris, river excursions, guided hikes, and catch-and-release fishing.

On the dining front, the establishment showcases modern Zambian cuisine across its various spaces, complemented by a floating pontoon for meals on the water and immersive culinary workshops.

The wellness offering includes in-room treatments, private hammam spaces, as well as a floating fitness and yoga platform installed directly on the river.

Accessible by charter flights from Lusaka or Livingstone to the Chunga airstrip, or a four-hour drive from the capital, the camp represents a new showcase for sustainable and high-end tourism in Southern Africa.

Vedettes de Paris Opens a Bar Without Cans or Bottles

L'innovation repose sur un système de distribution à la tireuse pour les bières, cocktails, eaux et boissons sans alcool @Vedettes de Paris

CroisiEurope

Two years after electrifying its boats, Vedettes de Paris takes a new step in its environmental strategy.

The company, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year, has just inaugurated “Le Trincoeur”, a new bar concept installed aboard its open-top vessel Le Montparnasse.

The innovation rests on a draught-distribution system for beers, cocktails, waters and non-alcoholic beverages. The aim is to eliminate cans and reduce packaging, while simplifying logistics on board.

A 90-kg Saving Over the Season

Thanks to an integrated potable water tank, the boat can carry up to 500 liters of beverages. For its non-alcoholic offering, Vedettes de Paris teamed up with Necense, a Parisian company specializing in artisanal infused drinks.

Iced tea, lemonade or ginger beer are prepared directly on board, with a sugar content advertised as 30% lower than that of traditional sodas.

The company estimates that this setup will save, over a seven-month season, nearly 90 kg of cans and 80 kg of cardboard. The crew should also gain about an hour per day on bar setup and restocking operations.

Vedettes de Paris also highlights a menu favoring French references, in a décor inspired by Parisian bistros. Rolled out experimentally on Le Montparnasse, the concept could subsequently be extended to the entire fleet.

CroisiEurope

Ponant Explorations opens to sale over 120 departures scheduled between October 2027 and November 2028, in the Mediterranean, in Northern Europe and in the Atlantic islands.

A new step in the strategy presented to travel agencies during its at-sea seminar in February.

Ponant had then announced its intention to progressively extend its sales openings from 21 to 30 months before departures, in order to respond to the surge in highly anticipatory bookings and to offer greater visibility to distribution.

The Mediterranean Takes Center Stage

The Mediterranean represents the heart of this new program, with more than 70 departures between March and November 2028.

Fourteen “Kid Explorers” cruises are notably planned for families, as well as about ten short formats of six days and five nights.

In Northern Europe, the company schedules trips to the British Isles, the Norwegian fjords and the Baltic Sea, notably two itineraries passing through the Faroe Islands.

In the Atlantic, Ponant will offer two 100% Azores itineraries in July 2028 and four cruises entirely dedicated to the Cape Verde Islands, aboard the sailing vessel Le Ponant, in October and November 2027.

A cruise dedicated to oenology will also connect Lisbon to Bordeaux in May 2028.

Finally, the company maintains its “Serenity Policy” : for any new booking made up to August 31, 2026, passengers may modify or reschedule their cruise at no cost for a departure scheduled in the same year or for an earlier date, according to the terms set by the company.

MGallery Collection Opens in Rhodes, Greece

MGallery Collection s'installe à Rhodes, MGallery Rhodes, photo by MGallery

CroisiEurope

The Island of the Knights is poised to welcome a new benchmark in luxury hospitality.

In July 2026, MGallery Collection and Colossos SA formalized the signing of an agreement to establish the brand’s very first hotel on Rhodes.

Currently under construction in the Kallithea region, this exclusive adults-only project will unfold facing panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, blending inspiring architecture, holistic well-being and refined gastronomy.

Inspired by the rich architectural heritage of the local medieval city, the complex revolves around a ten-story main building with a spiraling silhouette, ensuring unobstructed sea views from every accommodation.

Designed to deliver calm and privacy, the resort will also offer suites as well as bungalows with private pools, all set within a Mediterranean landscape of ancient olive trees, lavender and native plants.

This vision is borne directly by Aris Soulounias, Chief Executive Officer of Colossos SA : « MGallery Rhodes represents a major strategic investment for Colossos SA and embodies our vision for the future of Rhodes’ hospitality: hospitality driven by quality, a sense of aesthetics, international partnerships and experiences with a strong sense of identity.

Our collaboration with Accor, and more specifically with the internationally recognized MGallery Collection, gives a new dimension to this project and brings together all the conditions to make this future hotel a reference address, in Greece as well as internationally.
»

A Rich Gastronomic Offering and a Premium Wellness Sanctuary

The culinary experience sits at the heart of the project, with five gastronomic restaurants and four eateries with Mediterranean and international influences, all oriented toward the coastline. Several communal spaces will complement the whole, notably a signature cocktail bar imagined as the resort’s beating heart.

Maud Bailly, CEO of Accor’s luxury brands, underscores that this address sits within the collection’s philosophy by drawing its uniqueness and identity directly from the authenticity of its host territory: MGallery is a collection of hotels where each property draws its identity from its locale. The project we are developing on Rhodes is a fine illustration of this. Its inspiring architecture, its privileged sea-facing location, its wellness approach and the authentic ties it weaves with its destination reflect the expectations of today’s travelers. »

The relaxation component will rest on a substantial 110-square-meter spa housing an indoor pool and a hydromassage pool, where exclusive care rituals will be delivered in partnership with the prestigious Swiss houses Valmont and Swiss Perfection.

The outdoor facilities will comprise fifty private pools scattered across the estate, an outdoor fitness area, sport routes as well as tennis and padel courts.

The project also integrates technologies related to renewable energies.

CroisiEurope

The École Internationale Tunon will establish four new campuses in Guadeloupe, in French Guiana, on Réunion, and in Martinique by the start of the September 2026 term.

These openings, led by Carole Marchand, make it possible to access professional certifications listed in the National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP) locally, without the need to relocate to mainland France.

Founded in 1964, the school reports an average employment rate of 88% and relies on a network of 2,700 partner companies, serving a community of 71,000 alumni.

Three programs dedicated to the aviation and hospitality sectors

The training offerings in the overseas departments and territories (DROM) revolve around three diplomas: Tourism & Aviation Assistant (Bac+2), Executive Assistant to Hotel Management (Bac+2) and Hospitality Bachelor (Bac+3).

The aviation track includes preparation for the Cabin Crew Attestation (CCA), the DGAC-mandated diploma required to work as cabin crew, with an 85% success rate recorded in 2025.

This offering responds to the growth in airport traffic, notably in Réunion (+5.5%) and in Guadeloupe (+3.6%) over the past year.

The hospitality tracks are offered as apprenticeships or with internships of 24 to 32 weeks over two years, aimed at supplying skilled staff for regional establishments, whose visitor numbers have risen by 4% to 6% in the year.

CroisiEurope

For the summer season of 2026, Pierre & Vacances announces the opening of four new premium residences in Switzerland, located in various Alpine resorts.

In the Valais canton, two establishments will open in Val d’Anniviers: the Zinal residence, equipped notably with a restaurant, a gaming room and a children’s area, with access to mountain activities such as visiting the Zinal glacier, rock climbing, and mountain biking; and the Vercorin residence, which will offer a spa, a restaurant, and various activities such as paragliding or discovering the local wine heritage.

A third residence will be located at Thyon 4, in Val d’Hérens. It will notably include a restaurant with panoramic views and will provide access to a range of hiking and mountain-biking activities, as well as the spa at the Grands Bains d’Hérémence.

Finally, a fourth residence will open in Meiringen, in the canton of Bern, near the Sherlock Holmes museum and about twenty minutes from Interlaken.

Guests will also receive a guest card giving access to several local activities free of charge or at a reduced rate, such as the municipal swimming pool, mini-golf, tennis, or certain guided tours.

Make the Train the Gateway to the Swiss Alps

In parallel, the brand partners with TGV Lyria to promote a combined offering of rail transport and accommodation, with the aim of facilitating access to the Swiss Alps without a car.

This partnership takes place in a context where transportation accounts for nearly 70% of greenhouse gas emissions tied to vacations.

The two companies thus aim to encourage travelers to favor train travel to reach mountain destinations.

A subsidiary of SNCF Voyageurs and the Swiss Federal Railways, TGV Lyria connects Paris and Dijon year-round to several major Swiss cities, including Geneva, Lausanne, Basel and Zurich.

An additional summer link also connects Marseille to Geneva and Lausanne from April to October, with enhanced service in July and August.

“”With Pierre & Vacances, we concretely facilitate access to the Swiss Alps by combining low-carbon mobility and premium experience,” explains Éric Dehlinger, chief executive of TGV Lyria.

For Pierre & Vacances, this initiative is part of its strategy to develop mountain destinations accessible without a car. “The opening of Switzerland is a strategic milestone in our European development and strengthens our position as a leading actor in mountain travel“, notes Grégory Sion, the brand’s chief executive.

On the occasion of this launch, the two partners offer a joint promotion including -20% on stays in the Swiss residences and on TGV Lyria Standard class tickets. The promotion will be on sale from 16 to 31 March 2026, for trips and stays between 25 April and 12 December 2026.
