Disneyland Paris Announces New Parade and Space Mountain’s Return

MSC Croisières

On the occasion of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, held from August 14 to 16, 2026 in Anaheim, California, Disneyland Paris unveiled several innovations that will enrich its offerings in the coming years.

Highlights include a new daytime parade anticipated for 2028, a fresh interpretation of Space Mountain – From Earth to the Moon – and new details about the upcoming immersive zone dedicated to The Lion King at Disney Adventure World.

Disneyland Park will welcome in 2028 a new daytime parade, the first since 2017. Presented as an exclusive creation for Disneyland Paris, it will run daily and become one of the park’s new daytime entertainment highlights.

Led by Mickey Mouse and his friends, the parade will feature several iconic characters from the Disney universe, among them Jasmine, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Miguel from Disney/Pixar’s Coco. New floats will blend design with cutting-edge technology around the theme of magic and dreams.

The project required more than 10,000 hours of technical research and development, as well as nearly 225 sketches dedicated to costumes, wigs, and makeup.

Space Mountain Returns to Its Original Story

Another announcement concerns the Disneyland Park: Space Mountain will receive a new artistic direction inspired by its original incarnation, Space Mountain – From Earth to the Moon.

Opened in 1995, the attraction drew on Jules Verne’s novel and offered a retro-futuristic world paired with an immersive experience.

After ten years under the Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain theme, the ride is therefore set to reclaim the spirit of its initial design. The current version is slated to close at the end of 2027 to allow several months of renovation.

Disneyland Paris stresses that the project will not be a mere reproduction of the 1995 attraction. The work will include technical and maintenance improvements, new sets and props, and a redesigned queue.

The narrative will also be revisited, framed by an idealized vision of humanity’s early voyages to the Moon, rendered in a steampunk style faithful to the Discoveryland universe.

Disneyland Paris further notes that elements of the original scenery will be integrated with new installations, while the technical improvements accumulated over more than 30 years will be retained.

This transformation is part of the “New Magic” program, recently launched by Disneyland Paris to evolve certain historic attractions and refresh the visitor experience.

The Lion King: Scar Joins the Upcoming Attraction

At Disney Adventure World, Disneyland Paris is also continuing the construction of its forthcoming immersive zone dedicated to The Lion King.

The park revealed at D23 new details about the attraction, notably the presence of Scar in the form of an Audio-Animtronics figure.

The character will appear in a new confrontation scene with Simba, directly inspired by the film’s iconic battle. This will mark Scar’s first Audio-Animatronics figure presentation within this attraction.

The future zone will constitute the first immersive world dedicated to The Lion King in a Disney park. Work began in the autumn of 2025, after the foundations were completed, near Adventure Bay and World of Frozen.

The area will span roughly 30,000 square meters and will include the attraction, a shop, a dining space, and meet-and-greet areas for character interactions.

A Transformation That Continues at Disney Adventure World

These announcements are part of a significant evolution phase for Disneyland Paris.

The development of Disney Adventure World continues, notably following the opening of World of Frozen and several new experiences.

The next milestone announced will be the arrival of Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, a ride inspired by the Disney/Pixar film Up, which is slated to open next year on Adventure Way, opposite Rapunzel’s Tangled Spin.

Oceania Cruises Announces the Launch of the Oceania Sonata

Hurtigruten

The Oceania Sonata marks the first of five ships that will compose the new Oceania Cruises Sonata class. It will be followed in 2029 by its sister ship, the Oceania Arietta, and then by three additional units whose deliveries are staggered in 2032, 2035 and 2037.

Resulting from a nearly twenty-year partnership between the operator and the Italian shipyard Fincantieri, this project succeeds the delivery of the Oceania Marina (2011), Oceania Riviera (2012), Oceania Vista (2023) and Oceania Allura (2025).

With a gross tonnage of around 86,000, the Oceania Sonata will offer a volume about 30% higher than that of the Oceania Allura, while adding only 90 more accommodations for a total of 695 cabins and suites reserved exclusively for adults.

A third of the overall capacity will be devoted to suites, including for the first time for the operator four Owner’s Suites with two bedrooms, as well as two new categories: the Horizon Suites (nearly 56 m² with veranda) and the Penthouse Deluxe Suites (around 45 m²).

13 dining venues aboard and an inaugural season spanning Europe and the Americas

On the dining front, the ship will feature 13 dining venues. The offering will introduce two new culinary concepts: La Table by Masters of French Cuisine and Nikkei Kitchen, which will complement the brand’s gastronomic proposition alongside the Grand Dining Room and the brand’s usual dining venues (Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill, Toscana).

For its inaugural season planned from August 2027 to April 2028, the Oceania Sonata will sail to more than 90 destinations. Its inaugural voyage, the Mediterranean Collage (a 14-day journey from Rome to Trieste), will begin on August 7, 2027, tracing a course through Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.

The summer and winter programs will combine itineraries in the Eastern Mediterranean (Greeks & Byzantines in October 2027), a Panama Canal crossing connecting Los Angeles to Miami in January 2028, as well as Caribbean island itineraries departing from Florida (Tropical Coves in March 2028).

Royal Caribbean unveils a new programming for Summer 2027, accompanied by a “Kids and Teens Sail” offer dedicated to children and adolescents, with fares starting from €99 for the youngest travelers.

This promotion sits within the company’s early booking strategy for families making a new booking by September 30, 2026.

The company’s goal is to encourage long-term planning of summer vacations by highlighting onboard amenities suitable for all ages, ranging from leisure and entertainment facilities to themed dining spaces and relaxation zones.

Summer 2027: heading towards the Mediterranean, Alaska and the Caribbean

As for the summer program, the brand will position several newer ships on key sailing bases.

In Europe, the Legend of the Seas will return to offer seven-night itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, with departures from the ports of Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia).

In North America, the company will deploy the Anthem of the Seas and the Quantum of the Seas for seven-night cruises departing from Vancouver and Seward, focusing on discovering Alaska’s glaciers (Hubbard, Endicott Arm, Dawes).

At the same time, short three- to four-night formats will be operated in the Caribbean from Florida (Port Canaveral and Miami) via the Utopia of the Seas and the Wonder of the Seas, including calls at the private island Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau.

Hyatt Announces Three New Openings in Italy

TAP Air Portugal

Hyatt Hotels Corporation continues its expansion in Italy with the announcement of three new openings in Rome and Taormina.

These projects, representing a total of 428 additional rooms and suites, notably mark the arrival of the Hyatt Regency and Thompson Hotels brands on the Italian market.

Already present in the country through six properties spread across Milan, Venice, Rome, Florence and Sardinia, Hyatt aims to strengthen its position in one of Europe’s leading tourist markets.

The group says it has quadrupled the capacity of its Italian portfolio since 2019 and plans to continue its expansion, as more than 40 openings are scheduled in Europe in the coming years.

Two New Brands in Rome

The first announced opening concerns the upcoming Hyatt Regency Rome Central, with the inauguration planned for the end of the third quarter of 2026. Located near the Rome-Termini station, the property will primarily target business travelers, meetings and events.

This 238-room and suite hotel will notably offer a rooftop pool, a Pool Bar and the Niroma restaurant, inspired by Asian cuisine. It will be the first Italian property under the Hyatt Regency brand, which is already present in more than 240 hotels and resorts worldwide.

A few months later, in the fourth quarter of 2026, Hyatt also plans to open the Thompson Rome. This property will mark the lifestyle brand’s debut in Italy.

Housed in a renovated historic building near the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Piazza Venezia, the hotel will count 69 rooms. Three dining spaces are planned, including a sixth-floor restaurant inspired by the Italian Riviera as well as a rooftop cocktail bar.

A Second Park Hyatt in Italy

In the longer term, Hyatt plans the opening of the Park Hyatt Taormina in 2028. This property will become the second Park Hyatt hotel in Italy, after Park Hyatt Milan.

Located in Taormina, a premium destination on the eastern Sicilian coast, the hotel will comprise 121 suites. The project includes private terraces, views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna, a regional-inspired gastronomic offer and a spa.

According to Hyatt, these new openings respond to sustained demand in the high-end, lifestyle and luxury segments.

The group also emphasizes the potential for converting existing hotels to accelerate the development of its international brands in the most coveted Italian destinations.

“Italy represents an important growth market for Hyatt, as it combines strong tourist demand with a broad fleet of independent hotels,” explains Nuno Galvao Pinto, Vice President Development EAME of the group.

After Montenegro, Banyan Tree Announces Its European Ambitions

Mamula Island by Banyan Tree est juché sur un ilot isolé dans la baie de Kotor, au Monténégro. © Banyan Tree

Costa Rica

Since 2025, Banyan Tree, the flagship brand of the Singaporean-origin hotel group Banyan, has established its first address in Europe, specifically in Montenegro: “perched on an isolated islet, Mamula Island by Banyan Tree is installed in one of the three forts built in the mid-19th century to protect the Bay of Kotor”, details Kishan Chandnani, the new Global Head of Brand Marketing and Management.

The Bay of Kotor is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. The fortress sits between sea and sky, on Mamula Island, dating from the period when Montenegro was under Austro-Hungarian rule.

It had been abandoned for quite some time. Before it could become an elegant five-star property, seven years of restoration work were required under the impulse of Samih Sawiris, a billionaire Egyptian businessman, who has been the majority shareholder of FTI Group since the Covid crisis and is already known for his tourism investments, notably in Montenegro, Egypt and Morocco.

Regenerative travel

Une chambre du Mamula Island By Banyan Tree © Banyan Tree

Open from April to October and accessible only by private boat or helicopter, Mamula Island by Banyan Tree promises ultra-luxury experiences and can, upon request, be fully privatized for weddings or private events.

This private retreat of 32 rooms and suites (from €700 per night in the shoulder season and €1,471 in high season) with views over the Adriatic Sea features a beach, a Spa installed in the fortress’s central tower, three pools, three restaurants, and a bar. Resident artists are invited, and opera nights are held there.

Mamula Island by Banyan Tree targets a very high-end clientele seeking an authenticity that “luxury hotels don’t always offer”.

Banyan Group has no intention of stopping there. The brand now carries ambitious plans for Europe, both in Western and Eastern Europe. « We are on the lookout for new opportunities, provided they align with our philosophy », insists Kishan Chandnani.

A singular venture that began in Thailand

In a world that is increasingly fast-paced, Banyan Tree seeks to give its guests time to slow down and reconnect with what they love. Kishan Chandnani speaks of “regenerative travel.”

< b> The brand has stayed true to this approach since its beginnings. Banyan Tree is, in fact, a unique adventure born in 1994 at the initiative of two Singaporeans, Ho Kwon Ping and his wife Claire Chiang.

< b> This adventure first rooted in Thailand. In 1984, during a holiday at Bang Tao Bay on Phuket’s west coast, in the Andaman Sea, the couple discovered a vast tract of land nestled in a secluded lagoon. Enchanted by the beauty of the site, they bought it, believing it to be the perfect place to build a nature hotel.

Unfortunately, Ho Kwon Ping and his wife were disappointed: the land had been polluted by the discharge from a tin mine. They had to implement an environmental regeneration program by introducing native plants and planting nearly 7,000 trees.

It was only ten years later that they were able to construct their very first five-star complex, the Banyan Tree Phuket: 173 luxurious private villas, nestled in lush greenery.

Banyan Tree: luxury in nature

Avec Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, la marque a enfin pris pied à Singapour. © Banyan Tree

By betting on authentic and eco-friendly luxury on an island — Phuket — known for mass tourism excesses, Ho Kwon Ping and his wife established themselves as pioneers.

Even though, today, the Banyan Tree brand also develops urban hotels in key markets like Bangkok, Dubai, Doha, the aim of harmonizing with the environment continues to guide the design of its hotel complexes, not unlike Six Senses (IHG).

Wherever they are, Banyan Tree properties are anchored in the spirit of the place.

This is the case with Banyan Tree AlUla, in Saudi Arabia. Wrapped in the silence of the Ashar desert valley, its 72 standalone villas, cloaked in canvas, display the sandy hues of the surrounding dunes and neighboring sandstone towers.

They confirm Banyan Tree’s intention to immerse itself in local history — here, the Nabataean civilization — combining service excellence with environmental respect to offer unique experiences to travel connoisseurs.

This is also true of the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, which marked in November 2025 the brand’s debut in Singapore, in the heart of a nature reserve. Its 338 rooms and 24 Tree Houses shaped like seeds perched in trees were designed in harmony with nature, as were the wellness offerings, retreats, and guided walks.

This Resort has also earned the BCA Green Mark Platinum certification for its low environmental impact.

Reconnect one’s soul to wildlife

Les villas de Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape sont guidées par la philsophie "ni murs, ni portes". © Banyan Tree

Similar concerns have shaped Ubuyu, A Banyan Tree Escape, which will, next August, become the brand’s very first safari retreat.

Located in Tanzania, this intimate eco-luxury refuge inviting “to reconnect one’s soul with the wild” comprises only six villas. Built by artisans and inspired by Maasai architecture, they blend into the surrounding savanna where wildlife roams freely.

However, the most accomplished expression of Banyan Tree’s nature-led luxury surely lies, since June 2022, in Bali, Indonesia.

Guided by the philosophy “no walls, no doors”, the 16 wooden private villas, decorated with handcrafted items from Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape, invite a deep communion with the rice paddies, the tropical forest, and the Ayung River that surrounds them.

Zimbabwe: Hyatt Announces Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls Opening at The Kingdom

Costa Rica

The Hyatt group is preparing to open the Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom in Zimbabwe by the end of 2027.

This property will undergo a complete renovation to meet Grand Hyatt brand standards.

Ideally situated five minutes on foot from the tropical rainforest surrounding Victoria Falls, the hotel will form the second site of the company in the country.

Originally built in 1966 and redesigned in 1999, this iconic resort is embarking on a global transformation of its architecture and interior décor.

The management agreement signed between a Hyatt subsidiary and Albwardy Investments aims to reinvent this benchmark of African hospitality into a high-end destination.

From its inauguration under the new banner, World of Hyatt members will be able to accumulate and redeem their benefits during their stays.

A Renovation Project and a Strategic Location for Regional Tourism

Upon reopening, the Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom will offer 245 fully redesigned rooms.

The facilities will also include 1,800 square meters of space dedicated to meetings and receptions, three restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, and a large lounge-hall.

Moreover, the hotel benefits from a prime location in the heart of Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Positioned as the closest property to the entrance of the Victoria Falls National Park on the Zimbabwean side, it is also a 20-minute drive from the international airport. This geographic setting will facilitate visitors’ access to regional safari circuits, cultural activities, and local gastronomic experiences.

Omio Group Announces Plan to Acquire Rail Europe

Omio Group annonce le projet d'acquisition de Rail Europe, image by OMIO

CroisiEurope

The Omio Group, a multimodal booking group, is launching a sector-wide consolidation phase by absorbing the Rail Europe platform on July 16, 2026.

Thanks to this merger, the newly formed group plans to sell 22 million train tickets per year and to collaborate with a network of more than 28,000 transport operators worldwide.

This transaction comes in a railway distribution market that is undergoing a restructuring, driven by European state investments in low-carbon transport infrastructure and the shift toward mobility alternatives to road and air travel.

Transaction details and operational organization

The integration of Rail Europe’s historic platform will allow the Omio Group to broaden its current offering, which already includes its consumer-facing B2C platform, its distribution service for professionals (B2B), as well as the Rome2Rio journey planner.

Rail Europe will retain its current brand identity with travelers and partners while migrating to Omio’s technological backbone and multimodal inventory. This technological transfer provides the acquirer with direct access to a network of travel agencies operating in more than 70 countries.

The operation will also lead to a reorganization of the company’s structures. The consolidated workforce is expected to reach approximately 680 employees worldwide, combining Omio’s teams with Rail Europe’s 205 staff.

However, the closing of the agreement remains subject to the regulatory information and consultation process with the bodies representing the staff, which must issue an advisory opinion on the project before any final signing.

The trainings are led by professionals actively working in the field, such as product managers, sales managers or leaders of tourism offices, ensuring a practical and up-to-date approach to destinations.

In a market marked by often late registrations, Prodesti encourages professionals to anticipate their training plans in order to strengthen their sales capabilities for destinations undergoing rapid evolution.

A dense training calendar from May to July 2026

Several sessions are still open during the first half of the year, with modules of 3h30 spread across two levels: Connaisseur and Specialist, enabling a progressive upskilling.

Among the upcoming trainings scheduled:

Among the new offerings, Prodesti expands its program with a training dedicated to French Polynesia. Scheduled for December 1 and 3, 2026, via a multi-company videoconference, it will be led by Anne-Laure Gohier, a renowned expert on the destination.

With over 20 years of experience in crafting tailor-made journeys across the Pacific archipelagos, she will provide operational insights on accommodations, logistical constraints and the specifics of the different Polynesian territories. Since 2022, she has devoted herself exclusively to this destination, known for its complexity yet highly sought-after in the luxury segment.

Another calendar highlight: a partnership between Prodesti and the Peruvian Tourism Office around a free training dedicated to Peru.

Two in-person sessions titled Connaisseur of Peru will be organized: in Marseille, on June 16 from 14:00 to 18:00 at the Mercure Vieux-Port Hotel in Marseille Centre Vieux Port, and in Paris, on June 30 from 15:30 to 19:30 at the Embassy of Peru in Paris. Ceetiz Announces Permanent Closure of All Activities

Ceetiz est une start-up française fondée en 2012, elle ferme ses portes en 2026 - Capture écran

Dream Yacht

It was a thunderbolt in the hushed world of travel tech.

After 14 years of development and activity, Ceetiz announces it will permanently cease all its operations in the coming weeks. The company, acquired in 2021 by the Japanese group HIS/Miki Travel, had hoped to pull itself out of the downturn caused by the health crisis.

We will honor all payments for bookings whose travel dates are scheduled through August 31, 2026. All bookings from September 1 will be cancelled. If you have any questions, your point of contact will be happy to assist you.“, explain Ceetiz teams in a statement.

Our team will remain available in the coming weeks to accompany you and meet all your needs“, explained the Ceetiz teams in a statement.

New bookings have been halted since June 3, 2026.

Ceetiz: a 2021 acquisition to gain some air

Founded in 2012, after two years of maturation, the startup was launched by Éric Blanc, the former CEO of Havas Voyages and Pierre & Vacances, and Damien Bellon.

Very disruptive at the time, it was then “the only online platform allowing the purchase of tourist activities worldwide“, as we wrote in 2013, when it opened to resale in travel agencies.

Two years later, the young company raised €3 million to conquer a sector undergoing rapid change.

To read: Tourist activities, a new growth lever for agencies?

At that time, it had managed to achieve the feat of rising “to the ranks of the world’s leading operators“. This windfall was expected to allow it to solidify an even stronger competitive position.

It offered 8,000 activities in more than 220 destinations.

Unfortunately, the arrival of international challengers undermined the travel tech player. Added to this was the health crisis. In 2021, the startup was acquired by the Japanese group HIS/Miki Travel.

Ceetiz: a final recapitalization in 2024

Three years later, it makes a strong comeback at IFTM Top Resa.

It was reselling tickets for major museums, monuments and amusement parks, city passes, guided tours, excursions… all across more than 400 destinations.

Ceetiz employed nearly 40 people and developed its own technological solutions, all in France.

Nevertheless, losses accumulated, rising from €581,000 in 2021 to €2.27 million in 2024. In the same year, the shareholder carried out a capital increase to clean up the accounts, amounting to €2.050 million.

In the income statement for that year, “the parent company committed to providing financial support and enabling CEETIZ to meet its financial obligations and maturities for the 12 months following the signing of its annual accounts“, we could read.

The 2025 financial year seems to have been one too many.
