The Radisson Hotel Cannes Seaside has just opened its doors on Docteur Raymond Picaud Avenue, near the Croisette, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and the historic Suquet district.

This opening aligns with the group’s development strategy on a market considered a priority.

The establishment benefits from a location that allows visitors to quickly reach Cannes’ main tourist sites, from the Croisette to the Îles de Lérins, passing by the Suquet and the Palais des Festivals.

We are delighted to welcome our first guests to the Radisson Hotel Cannes Seaside. Every detail of the establishment has been designed to reflect the warmth and relaxed elegance of Mediterranean hospitality“, declares Samia Briki, the hotel’s general manager.

She adds that the establishment aims to welcome both business travelers and vacationers or guests coming to celebrate a special occasion.

Hilton poursuit l'expansion de son portefeuille européen avec l'ouverture de deux établissements - Depositphotos.com @josekube

TAP Air Portugal

Hilton continues to expand its European network. The group has just announced the opening of two new properties, one in Greece, and the other in Iceland, illustrating its strategy of growth in popular tourist destinations.

In Chania, on the Crete island, the group unveils the Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa, marking Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ return to Greece.

Located immediately adjacent to the old town and the seafront, the property aims to attract an international clientele year-round.

At the same time, Hilton opens the Skáld Akureyri, Curio Collection by Hilton, the first property of the brand in northern Iceland. Situated in the heart of Akureyri, it relies on an identity strongly rooted in local culture.

La Canée : Hilton mise sur une destination ouverte toute l’année

With this opening, Hilton strengthens its presence in Greece, where the group now operates more than 50 hotels under various brands.

The Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa comprises 85 rooms and suites. All feature a balcony with a private heated pool, while some also offer a private sauna and views of the Aegean Sea.

The property also includes an on-site rooftop infinity pool, a botanical garden, a spa developed in partnership with L’Occitane en Provence, a fitness center and several spaces dedicated to hosting meetings, seminars, weddings or private events.

On the dining front, several concepts are offered: a Mediterranean all-day restaurant, a rooftop with a pool, a sea-facing lounge as well as a Fauchon cafe-patisserie, marking its first presence in Greece.

According to Hilton, this new property aligns with a plan to help desaisonnalize the destination by developing an offering suitable for both leisure travelers and business guests.

En Islande, Curio Collection s’installe à Akureyri

More than 4,000 kilometers from Crete, Hilton also continues its expansion in the Nordic countries with the opening of the Skáld Akureyri, Curio Collection by Hilton.

The hotel comprises 71 rooms as well as 15 serviced apartments. Its concept draws on Icelandic literary heritage: the name Skáld refers to the poets and storytellers who hold an important place in the country’s culture. This identity is reflected in the interior design, the choice of materials and the artworks present in the property.

The Abba-labba-lá restaurant showcases Nordic cuisine crafted from local and seasonal ingredients. Two rooftop terraces, a fitness space and several reception areas complete the offering.

Located just a few minutes’ walk from Akureyri’s city center, the hotel also positions itself as a gateway to the main natural sites of northern Iceland, including the Diamond Circle, whale-watching excursions, ski resorts and the Northern Lights.

The Telegramme Group Acquires the 4-Star Le Grand Bé Hotel in Saint-Malo

TAP Air Portugal

The Groupe Télégramme is accelerating its territorial growth strategy by investing in high-end hospitality.

On Friday, July 10, 2026, the group formalized the acquisition of the Grand Bé hotel, a 4-star establishment of reference located within the city walls in Saint-Malo, in close proximity to the future National Maritime Museum.

This operation marks a key milestone for the company, which intends to rely on its local roots and its multiple areas of expertise to consolidate the attractiveness of this major Saint-Malo address.

Ideally designed to appeal to both tourist and professional clientele, the property features a bar, a rooftop, dining spaces as well as a wellness area with a spa.

For business tourism, the hotel also offers facilities dedicated to seminars, meetings and corporate events.

As part of this overall business turnaround, the group integrates a industry-recognized professional with over twenty years of experience, Marc Scognamiglio, who will oversee the property’s future alongside the teams already in place.

Strong local and event-driven synergies on the horizon

Integrating the Grand Bé into Groupe Télégramme will generate clear complementarities with the acquiror’s historical lines of business, notably in the sectors of media, communications and events.

The group plans to capitalize on its deep knowledge of the region and on its network of partners to develop the professional seminars segment, maximize opportunities around business tourism and enrich the overall customer experience.

This ambition is directly shared by Régis Rassouli, Deputy CEO for Development of Groupe Télégramme: “Le Grand Bé is a renowned address for the quality of its welcome, its exceptional location and the commitment of its teams. Our ambition is to continue its development in the respect of its identity, by relying on the Group’s expertise to strengthen its attractiveness and support its evolution. ”

To support this modernization, a investment plan will begin by the end of 2026 and span 2027.

The budget envelopes will be primarily allocated to the complete renovation of the wellness space, to specific interior fittings and to the redesign of the decoration, while ensuring the venue’s historic assets are preserved.

According to Jean-Baptiste Pavin, CEO of Groupe Télégramme, “Le Grand Bé is an emblematic establishment that benefits from a history, an identity and a recognized know-how. Its acquisition illustrates our commitment to invest sustainably in value-creating projects that are useful to the territories.

Whether it is informing, supporting businesses or organizing major events, our ambition remains the same: to create connections, to deliver high-quality experiences and to contribute to the radiance of the territories in which we are involved.

The brand Destination by Hyatt strengthens its presence in Greece with the opening of the Parian Chronicle Hotel Paros.

Co-developed with the management company SWOT Hospitality, this new contemporary establishment of 50 rooms is set on the island of Paros, in the heart of the Cyclades archipelago.

This project marks the first insular presence for this particular brand, whose global network now comprises 25 hotels and complexes operating in about ten countries.

This new opening comes amid strong growth for the national travel market, which recorded nearly 38 million visitors during the 2025 season.

Located in Kampos village, near Parikia airport and port, the hotel targets travelers aged 13 and older.

We are delighted to celebrate the brand’s first opening on a Greek island,” said Manuel Melenchón, Managing Director EMEA South at Hyatt, in a press release.

A private accommodation offering complemented by local dining services

The design of the accommodations, entrusted to the architectural firm Makridis Associates, uses natural materials such as stone, wood, and linen to echo the Cycladic architectural tradition.

Across the total of 50 rooms and suites, ranging in size from 30 to 42 square meters, 39 units feature a private swimming pool, while the others benefit from an outdoor jacuzzi installed on private terraces or patios.

The catering aspect revolves around the signature restaurant NAAO, which structures its menus around the island’s artisanal and agricultural productions.

The lunch service, dubbed The Parian Table, highlights seasonal dishes to be shared, while the dinner offerings rely on regional culinary techniques such as curing, sun-drying, and grilling, accompanied by a selection of wines from the archipelago.

Spa facilities and activities centered on island craftsmanship

The resort complex includes a 120 square meter wellness hub, centered around the Nipson Spa.

This area houses a fitness center, two non-gender-specific saunas, a double treatment room, and relaxation lounges.

The treatment protocols and body therapies offered at the facility draw on the therapeutic methods of ancient Greece.

In addition to these wellness facilities and the large outdoor pool, the property offers a program of cultural excursions, with discovery routes through traditional villages and regular encounters with Paros’ winemakers and artisans.

Assas Hotels Opens Lepoussin Hotel in the Heart of Cannes

TAP Air Portugal

Located about a ten-minute walk from the Croisette and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, this former standard aparthotel has undergone a complete overhaul to erase traces of its past.

Classified as four stars, the establishment now offers 72 rooms distributed across five categories (Classic, Comfort, Superior, Family, and Family Superior) capable of accommodating up to 6 people.

All the rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with NUXE welcome products, a TV with Chromecast, and optimal comfort for short or long stays. Pets (up to 15 kg) are also welcome, with special attention.

A Contemporary Reinterpretation of the Belle Époque

The interior architecture, entrusted to Marie-Paule Clout (founder of the Noir Nuance agency), unifies the historic neo-classical main façade with the more recent extensions from the 1990s around a timeless identity.

The decoration relies on a palette of natural tones (warm sand, light stone, saline hues) and noble materials such as parquet, walnut, wicker, stone, and linen.

From the Belle Époque-inspired welcome, the tone is set with a graphic parquet floor and elegant moldings. The breakfast area was designed beneath a wide glass roof, like a winter garden, incorporating an orange tree and a lemon tree kept in place.

The hotel also integrates a wellness space featuring an indoor pool, loungers, and a herbal tea bar, completed by a fully equipped fitness room.

A Clear-Cut Eco-Friendly Approach

In line with the policy of the Assas Hotels group, the Lepoussin Hotel implements concrete everyday actions to reduce its environmental impact.

The emphasis is on waste management and weighing, reducing food waste, and transparency about the local origin of breakfast products.

For the upkeep of the premises, the establishment has banned nearly all chemical products in favor of an ozone water system. The hotel aims for a comprehensive assessment via the FairScore audit by 2027. The site finally features a private parking lot equipped with electric charging stations.

Valentin Villatte, Operations Director

Valentin Villatte, the operations director, holds a bachelor’s degree from the Institute Vatel. He climbed the ranks of the hotel industry by serving as Executive Housekeeper at the National des Arts et Métiers in Paris, then as Director of Housekeeping during the opening of the Belle Plage hotel in Cannes.

After managerial stints at the Gray d’Albion Barrière in Cannes and at L’Îlot du Golf in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, he takes the helm of this new address of the Assas group.

Xavier Mufraggi Named Generator’s New CEO: Aims to Double or Even Triple Its Size in the Coming Years

Xavier Mufraggi, nouveau PDG de Generator - Photo : Generator, Tatjana Reid

TAP Air Portugal

Veteran executives from Club Med do not stay idle for long. After Gino Andreetta, appointed to lead Ponant’s customer experience, it is Xavier Mufraggi’s turn to make headlines in the travel press.

Indeed, the man who steered Club Med’s fate in North America, and later across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, has just been named chief executive officer of Generator.

For those who do not know this British group founded in 1995, we are talking about a brand that reinvents youth hostels into full-fledged lifestyle destinations in major European cities.

But it is even better when the new boss explains the concept. “A headhunter came to me, promising not to say no before meeting the people. I discovered what I call a social hotel, in an experiential sense.

It’s a blend between the restaurant, hospitality, the gym and the nightclub. All aimed at 16–30 years old. A clientele hungry for travel, while being exceptionally curious.

These clients want to understand and feel the city they are visiting, to be as close as possible to locals
“, he explains, summarising with his own words both Generator’s concept and the ambition nurtured by the group.

Generator : “Connecting them to the past and the future of these places”

Contrary to the assumptions often held by tourism boomers, Gen Z is not entirely self-absorbed. They seek contact and convivial spaces.

Because, although young people are increasingly living alone, they do not shut themselves off from others. As urbanist and retail sociologist David Lestoux explained to us, this generation loves city centres, local shops, and vibrant places.

Generator therefore arrived with a concept that reconciles young people, especially women, the main clientele of the company, with travel.

These young generations must choose between not travelling, for lack of budget, or doing so in places not always terrific. Affordable hospitality is either on the periphery or in white-box spaces with vending machines. We offer an alternative for all budgets“, explains Xavier Mufraggi.

We address these issues by offering central properties, made up of two-thirds dormitory rooms, some reserved for girls, and one-third private rooms.

So, for 35 or 40 euros, they are in a nice, secure place, letting them discover the city and enjoy experiences
“, continues the leader, enthusiastic about this new mission.

Because, beyond freeing up budget for travellers, Generator offers establishments in the heart of major cities. Thus, guests can then enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate at Demago or on Carette’s terrace facing the Trocadéro.

Read: From Youth Hostel to Generator: a Whole Story

It must be said that the experience of living like locals would be at the heart of this new generation’s concerns.

“In Paris, for example, we are Quai de Jemmapes. We have nearly 900 beds, including standard rooms at 140 euros with a view of the Sacré-Cœur. We also have an extraordinary rooftop and a nightclub.

We also create experiences and do, in a sense, Lean Luxury, with a product offering excellent value for money while allowing savings to fund additional experiences.

We connect our clients to both the past and the future of these places. Moreover, our teams are connectors. They will share the right addresses with our clients, who also go to Generator to meet people like them“, continues Xavier Mufraggi.

Generator : “doubling, or even tripling in size” by 2031

Generator : "doubler, voire tripler de taille" d’ici 2031 - Photo : Generator

Building on this winning formula with excellent margins, Generator struck it big in 2025.

Brookfield has set its sights on the British company and its European assets, for 776 million euros.

The aim now is to develop the brand and its network, while intensifying its positioning in hybrid hospitality.

It’s a relatively little-known investor, but one of the world’s largest asset managers, ahead of TPG Capital or KKR. In Generator’s case, they are interested in real estate, i.e., acquiring atypical sites such as offices, car parks or a police station, which will then be converted into hotels.

They will own the walls, and our job is to turn them into fun, design-led, trendy places. Today we only have 15 sites, but tomorrow we will double, or even triple, this figure in Europe
“, states Generator’s CEO.

To achieve this, the operator plans three to four openings per year, in order to reach 30 addresses by 2031. The ultimate goal will likely be 50 establishments. The horizon remains to be defined.

One of the development axes will be… Paris. “We have almost signed in Paris, at a location between Place d’Italie and Butte-aux-Cailles. Another project will be near Montparnasse station, then I will look for a building not far from Gare de Lyon.

We have three other projects in London.

Of the 15 existing sites, 11 are covered by a renovation plan. We need to premiumise them. Bunk beds will become cocoons, comparable to first-class spaces, as in airplanes“, reveals the leader.

Generator : a signature between Place d’Italie and Butte-aux-Cailles, with others to come

Generator : une signature entre la place d’Italie et la Butte-aux-Cailles, d’autres à suivre - Photo : Generator

This will involve acquiring four-star hotels located in city centres, including the Novotel London Greenwich, as well as converting offices, warehouses and public buildings.

Moreover, the English Novotel, which has around a hundred rooms, could accommodate nearly 900 guests, with densification being one of Generator’s keys to success.

The other pillar concerns locations. European expansion will revolve around the major European train stations.

Young people no longer travel with backpacks, but go in groups, and at the end of their schooling they embark on three weeks or a month in Europe.

They will visit Paris, London, Amsterdam, Prague, Barcelona, Madrid… so we are looking at the main European train stations and we will base ourselves around them.

I have an investor who enables us to grow and, rather than telling us we will capture one or two nights, we will try to be present across the entire perimeter.

Why not, tomorrow, allow our clients to buy a ticket valid for a month at Generator, to change location whenever they want
“, enthuses Xavier Mufraggi.

Thus, Generator is dusting off the Grand Tour framework of the XXIe century: a train journey to visit major European cities, in trendy places open to locals.

The question that remains is: what is a former Club Med executive doing in hostels that are being “premiumised”?

We share common values, starting with the notion of being pioneers. Then, in the hospitality world, I find that other guests form part of the customer experience when they mingle.

We also find multicultural values and Generator’s role as a social elevator for its employees. I like that this project serves as a social springboard. I want to offer an unlimited path to all ambitious people who love others and who are ready to train their successors
“, says Xavier Mufraggi.

Generator : “This project is win-win for everyone”

Moreover, in conversations with the former Club Med executive, we learn that his greatest achievement was preventing the North American branch from closing, under the leadership of Henri Giscard d’Estaing and Michel Wolfovski, saving 3,500 jobs and developing a new geographic area in the Dominican Republic, with 4,000 jobs created.

After spending a little more than a year with Fosun, he sought a project closer to people.

He has also undertaken a more sustainable turn. “Our generation tended to overlook commitments in favor of more sustainability, whereas these new generations think about it much more than we imagine, especially on transport.

The train will continue to rise in importance. It is also a mode of transport that allows you to reach the heart of cities, but also a convivial place for meeting and dialogue. This project is win-win for everyone
“, he concludes, before issuing a call to French and European authorities who hold brownfields or districts in decline in major cities.

Generator stands ready to revitalise these places.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts: A Summer Fueled by Last-Minute Bookings

Best Western Hotels & Resorts dresse le bilan des tendances de l'été 2026 - DepositPhotos.com, dvoevnore

TAP Air Portugal

The Best Western Hotels & Resorts group presents the initial activity trends for its French network for the summer season 2026.

A summer marked by last-minute bookings and the direct impact of high temperatures on the choice of stays.

While July recorded a more moderate start, the remainder of the season remains highly evolving under the influence of the “last minute” phenomenon.

In this context, The PACA region stands out as the network’s most dynamic destination, while the search for milder temperatures redirects a portion of flows toward Brittany, Normandy, Hauts-de-France and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Des trajectoires régionales contrastées selon les marchés

The analysis of network performance highlights highly heterogeneous results depending on geographic areas.

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region remains the season’s main engine with a 6.6% rise in its gross revenue between July and September compared with the previous year.

On its side, after a hesitant start in July, Brittany records a 1.5% increase in August and September, benefiting from a shifting clientele seeking cooler temperatures, while Corsica maintains a stable attendance level despite higher tariffs.

By contrast, Île-de-France experiences more moderate activity, suffering the usual slowdown of summer business tourism and the disinterest of travelers in metropolises during heatwave episodes.

L’adaptation des infrastructures face aux fortes chaleurs

The surge of summer heat waves has become a decisive factor in choosing accommodations.

The hotel group indicates that more than 80% of its properties in France are equipped with air conditioning systems, which has driven a significant spike in bookings at these hotels during recent heat waves.

This infrastructure now welcomes both leisure travelers and teleworkers thanks to the deployment of their shared work spaces, myWO.

Rocco Forte Hotels Renovates Its Historic Properties in Florence and Rome

TAP Air Portugal

9 million euros invested in Florence

Located on the Piazza della Repubblica, the Savoy Hotel reimagined its interiors around local materials and craftsmanship: Arabescato marble, stone, wood, bespoke parquet floors and textiles.

The 46 rooms and suites affected by the renovation have been redesigned with more flexible layouts, notably to accommodate families and groups.

The project also extends to the dining spaces. The Irene restaurant reopens with a new décor and a Tuscan cuisine offering imagined by Fulvio Pierangelini.

A new bar, Artemisia, completes the offering with a cocktail menu created by Salvatore Calabrese in collaboration with Federico Pavan.

The hotel also strengthens its local experiences with the Suite & Beyond program, which notably includes private tours of Palazzo Strozzi, calligraphy classes, and visits to Florentine leather workshops.

In Rome, a renovation centered on the guest experience

At the Hotel de Russie, the renovation focuses primarily on the arrival and reception areas. The new layout now distinguishes three zones: the entrance, the front desk, and the concierge, with a conversation space.

More than 90% of the furniture and finishes have been custom-made with Italian artisans and manufacturers. The project combines walnut woodwork, contemporary materials, and historic pieces.

Through these two renovations, Rocco Forte Hotels aims to strengthen the local identity of its properties while modernizing the experience offered to its upscale clientele.

Trenitalia France Opens Frecciarossa to Interrail and Eurail Pass Holders

TAP Air Portugal

Trenitalia France continues its expansion on the European rail market. The company announces its integration into the Interrail and Eurail networks, thereby granting access to its Frecciarossa trains to holders of the famous rail passes.

This evolution concerns both European travelers holding an Interrail Pass and international customers traveling with a Eurail Pass. They can now include Trenitalia France-operated connections in their itineraries across the 33 countries covered by the network.

Travelers have two options: the Flexi Pass, which allows selecting a fixed number of travel days within a given period, and the Continuous Pass, which offers unlimited travel for the duration of the title’s validity.

Trenitalia France: a driver for the company’s growth

Fully digital, the Passes are accessible via the Rail Planner app, which allows you to plan your journey, add Frecciarossa trips, and present your pass during checks.

To ride Trenitalia France trains, seat reservations remain mandatory. Its cost is set at 10 euros for domestic journeys and at 13 euros for international routes. Reservations can be made online, at Trenitalia France ticket offices, or via the company’s call center.

For Marco Caposciutti, president of Trenitalia France, this integration fits into the company’s growth strategy.

This partnership with Interrail B.V is, for us, a genuine strategic lever in our development on the rail market. It fully aligns with Trenitalia France’s mission: to promote train travel and offer a travel alternative that is simpler and more sustainable, he states in the press release.

This Pass responds to a strong trend: travelers seeking a novel experience, where the journey becomes an essential part of the trip. » he adds.

The integration of Trenitalia France into the Interrail/Eurail Pass network gives travelers even more freedom to go further and follow their curiosity beyond borders, explains Wouter Wolff, head of public affairs and strategic relations at Interrail B.V.

Present in France since December 2021 as part of the opening to competition of passenger rail, Trenitalia now operates the Paris-Lyon, Paris-Milan, and Paris-Marseille lines.
