Sun PhuQuoc Airways Entrusts European Sales Representation to TAL Aviation Group

MSC Croisières

As part of its international expansion, Sun PhuQuoc Airways partners with TAL Aviation Group to structure its commercial presence in the European market.

Based on Phu Quoc Island, the airline, a subsidiary of the Sun Group, plans to grow its fleet to 32 aircraft by the end of 2026, including four widebodies, in order to strengthen its routes in Asia and to prepare its long-haul network.

The European market is strategically important to us as we develop our international network. The in-depth market knowledge and TAL Aviation’s strong relationships with industry professionals make it the ideal partner to support our long-term growth in the region,” says Tran Viet Loi, the commercial director of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

A historic order of 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to support long-haul

This expansion strategy rests on a major investment plan to renew the fleet.

On February 18, 2026 in Washington, D.C., the airline formalized a contract worth $22.5 billion for the acquisition of 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

This commitment represents the largest order of wide-body aircraft in the history of Vietnamese commercial aviation.

The gradual arrival of these aircraft will enable the operator to operate direct connections between Vietnamese hubs, Europe and other international destinations.

Gideon Thaler, CEO of TAL Aviation Group, welcomed the partnership: “We are delighted to represent Sun PhuQuoc Airways in Europe. This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering premier representation and distribution.”

Comprehensive management of sales and partnerships in Europe

TAL Aviation’s mandate includes activating travel agency networks, supporting reservations, and developing strategic partnerships with industry players.

The group will rely on its network of local agencies to establish the airline’s presence among European customers.

Through this framework, Sun PhuQuoc Airways aims to position Phu Quoc and the region’s major Vietnamese cities at the heart of tourist and business flows coming from Europe.

Impact Consultants Turbocharges Sales Representation

TAP Air Portugal

Created in 2021 by two partners, Rodolphe Lenoir and Paul de Rosen, the tourism-focused consulting firm Impact Consultants decided to accelerate its commercial representation.

Main asset to support this ambition: the recruitment of Devi Pentamah as Director of Tourism Development. Former head of sales at Hilton, this new hire subsequently founded VIV Consulting, a firm specialized in the commercial representation of tourism players.

By combining strategic advisory and commercial representation, Impact Consultants, which now brings together 15 employees and posted revenue of €1.9 million in its latest financial year, anticipates in the short term an increase in its business volume of 10 to 15 %.

“Our ambition, said Rodolphe Lenoir at a press conference in Paris on Tuesday morning, is to become the reference for growth consulting and for commercial representation for tourism, hospitality and leisure players in France but also in Europe, excluding air transport”.

Already five new clients

“Consulting and commercial representation have long evolved as two distinct professions. Yet today, companies are looking more for support capable of linking strategic thinking to its operational execution. This is what we aim to offer“, insisted Rodolphe Lenoir.

According to him, the originality of the model developed by Impact Consultants lies in the combination of human expertise and tools derived from consulting, nourished by DATA and AI.

Now known in the consulting world (he works notably for Accor and TUI), Impact Consultants is not exactly a rookie when it comes to commercial representation. For five years, the B2B specialist firm has represented PortAventura World in its commercial development on the French market.

With the arrival of Devi Pentamah, Impact Consultants has already broadened its roster with several new collaborations: Mauzil DMC, a receptive agency based in Mauritius; Alize Travel, a DMC based in Morocco; Odysséo, the first oceanarium of the Mascarenes; and, finally, Acajou Beach Resort & Spa, an eco-friendly hotel in the Seychelles.

Negotiations are, moreover, well advanced with an Indian DMC and with operators in the Middle East, but their finalization has been delayed by the war in the Middle East, added Rodolphe Lenoir.

Recently, Impact Consultants has seen its two founders joined by three new partners: Alexandre Veau, Manuel Chevallier and Hélène Millet.

LATAM Airlines: Global Sales Support Excellence for Travel Professionals

© LATAM Airlines

Costa Rica

To accompany its distribution partners, the company relies on a highly specialized structure: the Global Sales Support (Global Sales Support – GSS) team. This tailor-made service is entirely dedicated to assisting travel agencies across all segments (leisure, business, online) as well as companies affiliated with the LATAM Corporate program, thereby ensuring efficient and borderless commercial connectivity.

A Multilingual Infrastructure and International Expertise

One of LATAM Airlines’ Global Sales Support’s major strengths lies in its international dimension and its ability to adapt culturally. The GSS team handles an impressive annual volume of more than 1.5 million requests worldwide. To offer a smooth and personable experience, the service is structured to respond in six key languages: French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, German, and Italian.

For Europe, and especially for the French market, service hours are perfectly aligned with the rhythms of local agencies. French-language support is available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 to 17:00, ensuring optimal responsiveness during business hours. Beyond these time slots or for absolute operational emergencies, the global channels take over to guarantee business continuity on a global scale.

360° Support: The Pillars of LATAM Airlines Support

The GSS service offering has been segmented to address with precision each type of issue encountered by travel agents. It revolves around four major areas of intervention :

1. Operational and Technical Support. This pillar forms the core of daily assistance. GSS advisors accompany agents through complex technical steps such as fare calculation (public or private fares), ticket reissuance procedures, and the association of electronic EMD documents for ancillary services, notably seat selection and baggage. Additionally, this unit handles requests for special services essential for passenger comfort, such as Unaccompanied Minor assistance (UMNR), or the carriage of pets in cabin (PETC) and in the hold (AVIH).

2. NDC Support by LATAM Airlines. In the era of digital transformation, LATAM Airlines positions itself at the technological forefront with its own NDC ecosystem. The GSS support offers specialized assistance for all requests related to issuances and redemptions via this platform. Whether it is voluntary changes or involuntary reissues following itinerary changes, the team also manages specific commercial exceptions (such as proposals to change airports for affected passengers), enabling agencies to navigate this new technological environment with ease.

3. Commercial and After-Sales Support. Profitability and administrative management of travel agencies are also central priorities for LATAM Airlines. The GSS support acts as a facilitator in resolving disputes related to Debit Memos (ADM). It is also responsible for applying commercial flexibility policies (pre-sale waivers) and discounts directly via the Latam Trade portal. Agents can request handling of refunds and the creation of user accounts in the private space.

4. Group Management. For group travel, Series and Charter Flights LATAM Airlines offers robust solutions for groups of at least 10 passengers sharing the same itinerary, whether for corporate or leisure purposes. The GSS offers two negotiation formats: ad-hoc groups, and the “AD HOC Series” for off-schedule requests. For large-scale projects, the Charter service manages the entire operational chain: PNR creation, invoicing, integration of name lists, issuance of the Master Ticket, and transmission of manifests to airport authorities.

Des canaux de communication optimisés et des engagements de service (SLA) stricts

To minimize waiting times for professionals and ensure maximum efficiency, LATAM Airlines commits to rigorous service standards (SLA) across several fast-response communication channels:

Phone: Via the dedicated French market line (+33 184080261), the average response time is 3 minutes, allowing you to speak directly with an advisor for case follow-up.

Online chat: Available directly on the portal www.latamtrade.com, this channel offers real-time interaction with a specialized agent, with an average wait time of only 20 seconds, enabling immediate contact for urgent cases.

Email: For cases requiring the submission of documents (such as [email protected]), LATAM guarantees an initial response within 8 hours and a final resolution within 48 hours.

Raise Awareness, Boost Sales, and Sustain Growth: Three Complementary Levers for Sustainable Tourism Growth [ABO]

It happens, after a familiarization tour, a trade show, or a B2B campaign, that a question naturally arises in our meetings: “How many sales have we generated?”

The question is legitimate. It, however, deserves to be complemented by others.

Because behind the diversity of our actions – trade marketing, commercial representation, strategic partnerships – there are in fact three professions, three horizons, and three value-creation logics.

Distinguishing them, without pitting them against each other, seems to me a condition for the calm with which we steward our investments.

Three professions that converge without merging

Trade marketing builds brand preference among distribution networks. It is about making a destination, an airline, or a receptive partner known, and embedding in distributors’ minds a durable, fair, and memorable image.

The tools are familiar: webinars, trainings, presence at trade shows, newsletters, familiarization tours, roadshows, educational content. Success is read in awareness, engagement, quality of conversations, and memorability of the offer.

When I support the promotion of a destination on the French market in particular, it is precisely this work that occupies the largest share: to create among travel agents a refined and desirable knowledge of the country, which they can mobilize when the client raises their hand. The sale does not trigger at the moment of the webinar. It germinates.

Commercial representation pursues a different, more immediately transactional goal: to open accounts, negotiate agreements, sign contracts, accompany the first sales.

The tools can resemble one another: a lunch, a meeting at a trade show, but the objectives are different. What I do for one client by working on listing and contracting with agency networks, or what I can deliver for an airline developing its TO portfolio, falls under this logic: to convert existing preference into concrete revenue.

Finally, there is a third level, less visible and yet often decisive: strategic partnerships. Identify the right allies, structure the alliances, build a coherent annual plan, align trade, marketing, and sales around a common vision.

This is the least documented work and, in my view, one of the most decisive. It is what I had the opportunity to build at Worldia, and what my experience with territorial authorities and tourist offices taught me to observe on the institutional side.

These three professions sometimes use the same tools. They do not measure the same effects, do not operate on the same horizons, and do not produce the same proofs of success.

What research reminds us about short and long-term perspectives

This distinction of temporalities is not merely a practitioner’s intuition. It is widely documented by marketing effectiveness research.

Binet and Peter Field, in their landmark study The Long and the Short of It, analyzed nearly a thousand cases spanning thirty years of data.

Their main observation deserves thoughtful reflection: short-term activation tactics yield immediate effects but fade quickly, whereas brand-building investments yield both long-term and short-term effects. The reverse is not true.

That does not mean short-term activation is useless, far from it. It means that the two logics are complementary, and neglecting one or the other weakens overall growth.

Binet and Field propose a now-classic benchmark: roughly 60% of investment toward brand-building and 40% toward activation; a balance to adjust to contexts but whose logic remains universal.

Also read: Why do some tourism brands stay in memory… while others disappear immediately?

A B2B specificity worth keeping in mind

Our sector being predominantly B2B, an additional perspective deserves attention: the 95-5 rule, formulated by the researcher John Dawes.

Companies change supplier or service provider on average once every five years, which means that about 5% of B2B buyers are “in the market” in any given quarter, and 95% are not.

Applied to tourism, a TO product manager, a MICE buyer, a travel agency director does not renew their reference partners each quarter.

When a familiarization tour brings together twenty-five professionals, most are not in an immediate purchasing position, but they may be in eighteen months, in two years, in five years.

Dawes’ teaching is valuable: advertising, or more broadly visibility activity, works mainly by building a mnemonic link for the brand, a link that will activate when the need arises.

It is, I believe, a liberating framework. It allows us to evaluate each action by its real contribution, and not by a calendar that is not the buyer’s.

How to articulate the three levers in practice?

A question, rather than a conclusion

Trade marketing, commercial representation, strategic partnerships: these three levers do not oppose each other. They answer different questions, on different time horizons, and together contribute to the sustainable growth of a tourism brand.

The first builds memory. The second converts opportunity into revenue. The third creates the conditions for this to endure over time.

Perhaps the challenge for our executive committees is not so much choosing between these three levers as orchestrating their complementarity, by equipping themselves to evaluate each according to what it can truly produce.

And you, how do you articulate these three phases in your strategy? I would be curious to read your feedback.

Trenitalia France Opens Sales for Summer 2026

Trenitalia France ouvre les ventes pour la saison estivale - Depositphotos.com @teamtime

IFTM prenez RDV avec TourMaG

Starting tomorrow March 4, 2026 at 8:00 a.m., Trenitalia France opens sales for the 2026 summer season on its three corridors: Paris–Lyon, Paris–Marseille and Paris–Milan.

Tickets will be available for the next six months, allowing travelers to anticipate their summer journeys to 11 destinations in France and Italy.

As with every opening, the earliest buyers benefit from the most attractive fares. Introductory prices start at €23 on Paris–Lyon, €27 on Paris–Marseille and €35 on Paris–Milan.

Tickets that can be exchanged, offering greater flexibility in case of unforeseen events, a strong selling point as the peak season approaches.

“The opening of sales is a key moment for travelers as well as for railway operators. It allows anticipating major summer travel and gives everyone the opportunity to book early to benefit from the best fares and choose their schedules,”, notes Marco Caposciutti, president of Trenitalia France.

Regarding the three lines

On the Paris–Lyon axis, the operator highlights a dense offering with 14 return journeys on weekdays. This frequency accommodates both business travel and last-minute getaways.

After a first summer deemed a success, with more than 200,000 travelers carried between June and August 2025, the Paris–Marseille line kicks off its second summer season. Four return trips daily are scheduled, with stops at Lyon Saint-Exupéry, Avignon TGV and Aix-en-Provence TGV.

The Paris–Milan international connection offers two return journeys daily. It directly links the French capital to the Lombard capital while crossing the Alps.

The operator notes, however, that infrastructure works scheduled on the transalpine line will cause several service interruptions during the summer. Travelers are invited to regularly check updated traffic information.

Tickets will be marketed via the Trenitalia France website and app, as well as at physical ticket offices and on in-station kiosks. The company accepts notably Chèques-Vacances Connect at the ticket counter and by phone, a measure aimed at supporting purchasing power.

Another promotional mechanism highlighted: the referral offer, which allows both the referrer and the referee to benefit from a 10% discount.
